Drop by Drop: Why water matters

Hayes and Jarvis Blog Team March 22, 2016

Drop by Drop

Access to clean, fresh water is something that most of us take for granted. More than 10% of the world is not as fortunate as us. For over 768 million people across the world, access to clean and safe water simply does not exist. This is something that Hayes and Jarvis, Just a Drop’s longest standing project sponsor, is committed to help change.

Take a look at our infographic for facts about why clean water is so important and what Just a Drop are doing to tackle this global problem.

Just a Drop is an organisation that has helped over one million people in over 30 countries and works to bring safe water to communities around the world who previously had none, from schoolchildren who need to walk for miles each day before and after their lessons, to women in remote corners of the world who are forced to use unsanitary toilets.

Hayes and Jarvis managing director Lesley Rollo said: “We are very proud to be able to help Just a Drop on our seventh project.  Last year, a number of our staff visited our last project in Kenya and saw first-hand just how much our support and efforts mean to the local communities. It touched them greatly and we will do all we can to help Just a Drop continue their amazing work.”

Our latest project, our third in Kenya, will start in May with completion due in early summer, using the skills of the local community for the build.  Previous projects with Hayes and Jarvis have included supporting the build of a water system with two wells in Bolivia, a water and hygiene project in Uganda and sanitary blocks and community toilets in Kenya.

You can learn more about all of the projects we have helped support, including plans for our latest project. If you would like to help us support Just a Drop, donate £1 when you book your next Hayes and Jarvis holiday or donate directly to Just a Drop at
