Mendoza Holidays

Mendoza. A city of mountainous scenery, breezy plazas and cosmopolitan cafes. Settings of wide, burnt-orange flats that blaze out to the horizon to meet the soaring, snow-tipped peaks of the Andes mountains. Home to Argentina’s most iconic wines, where it’d be foolish not to spend a good day (or two) touring the beautiful vineyards and sampling their fruits. Whether it’s world-famous Malbecs, Syrahs, Torrontes or Cabarets, you’ll find a wine for every palette on a holiday in Mendoza.

Argentina’s spectacular wine country

Europeans introduced the craft of winemaking to Mendoza hundreds of years ago, but it was the Argentinians that perfected it, paving the way to the exquisite blends of today. Mendoza is truly the heart and soul of Argentina’s wine country and there are numerous vineyards to visit while you’re there. Head to the Zuccardi vineyard for an afternoon enjoying a sumptuous asado (barbeque), before whiling away the day on the outside veranda with a glass of chilled, Zuccardi blend.

While a significant draw of the city, wine is not the only attraction of a Mendoza holiday. For a little action and adventure, you can head to the towering red walls of Atuel Canyon or brave the Mendoza zip-line where you’ll soar over a mountain lake. The opportunities for excitement are endless, with kayaking, white water rafting, mountain biking and skiing all available in the area. Wind down for the evening at one of the city’s many fabulous bars and restaurants.
