Bariloche's Lakes & Mountains Tour

Discover the beauty of south west Argentina during this four day luxury tour of Bariloche and the surrounding lakes and mountains. From admiring the stunning mountain scenery and indulging in some of the region’s famous chocolate to partaking in some horse riding and skiing, we’ll explore the diverse sights and attractions on offer.

The town of Bariloche, also known as San Carlos de Bariloche, is situated in Patagonia, bordering the stunning glacial Nahuel Huapi Lake. Nestled in the Andean foothills, this area is known for its Swiss style scenery, outdoor activities, wooden chalets and chocolate industry.
Embark on a trek in the famous Llao Llao Municipal Park, with the majestic peaks of Catedral, Lopez and Capilla in the distance and learn about the native Andean Patagonian wildlife and vegetation.

Set sail on the western shore of Lago Nahuel Hupai for Puerto Blest. It’s one of the most verdant areas of Argentina due to its plentiful rain and temperate rain forests. Next, we’ll stop off at the beautiful Centinela Island. On disembarking your water tour, you’ll have the chance to watch the thundering water of Los Cantaros Cascade and follow the trail along to the pristine, blue waters of Los Canteros Lagoon. Why not also choose a Tronador Mountain tour? It will give you a chance to explore one of the best known Andes mountain peaks.

Wake up to your first Argentinean breakfast, before setting off for a day of activity on route to Puerto Blest.

Today, you’ll be escorted along Ezequiel Bustillo Avenue, a scenic lakeside road in downtown Bariloche, where you can take in the local architecture and lake sights. On arrival at Pañuelo Port, you’ll board a boat for a west side lake tour on the way up to Puerto Blest. Lake Nahuel Huapi is over 200 miles long and boasts azure blue waters as well as numerous beaches dotted along its shores.  Ideal for summer retreats, this much loved lake is Argentina’s most popular lakeside holiday retreat.

As you navigate through the waters of the lake, you’ll pass Centinela Island before arriving at Los Canatros Cascade to see the breath taking waterfalls and cypress and coihue trees. From here, take a scenic 700 step walk along the trail up to Los Cantaros Lagoon and experience the humid, tropical rainforest conditions as you spot the native vegetation that grows there. Puerto Blest is known for being the wettest region in Argentina, with over 4,000mm of rainfall annually.

Take some time to wander around the area and sit down to lunch before boarding the boat back to Puerto Pañuelo Port and returning by bus to your accommodation in Bariloche.

Bariloche is especially known for its homemade chocolate – the best in Argentina – and has multiple chocolate shops and a chocolate museum to delight chocolate lovers all over.

Lastly, why not take a tour of one of the most popular mountain ranges in the Andes?
