Canada – Best time to go

Best time to visit Canada

Spring

Spring sees the flora and fauna awake in Canada. We love spending time in Ottawa enjoying the tulip festival or heading to remarkable Butchart Gardens to take in the stunning sights and the sweet smell of the hyacinths in the sunken garden. Spot the first humpback whales of the season or be lucky enough to spot a black bear near the train tracks as you pass on the Rocky Mountaineer.

Summer

Canada’s most popular season – it’s an ideal time to hit the road and explore by motorhome, or on one of our self drive itineraries. Take advantage of warm temperatures and hit the water for a little kayaking or canoeing and even spot some wildlife along the shores. Enjoy hiking, mountain biking and camping out in the wilderness or get the party started with festivals and other summer events in Toronto, Montréal or Vancouver.

Autumn

Travel to New Brunswick or Montréal to see the spectacular burnt oranges and golden leaves of the fall, these colours certainly rival those of New England. Or head west to see bears preparing for winter by feasting on the spawning salmon. The weather is mild and skies are a bright blue, making autumn picture perfect.

Winter

Whether you are looking to ski in one of Canada’s renowned resorts or just want to enjoy the après ski, there is no shortage of activities to participate in. Have you ever thought about dog sledding in Banff, visiting the Ice Bar in Whistler during Christmas and New Year or even snow shoeing?
