Not As Advertised

Victoria, BC

My wife and I booked the resort for a one night stay September 21,2019 and after hearing for years what a great place this was I was seriously disappointed. The one bedroom "duplex cabin" we booked was quite nice, it was clean and comfortable but the other people in the "B" side of the duplex decided it was funny to have the smoke alarm go off at 11:30 pm and then party hardy until after 1am. We went to dinner at Cedars and what a joke that was. First the waitress gave us the stare as to say what are you low life's doing here are you sure you can afford it here. (We are both in our 60's) The $35 dollar steak I ordered was cooked fine and was really good but, the so called mashed potatoes were as cold as hell. The took them back an in typical unprofessional manner brought them back to me fresh from the micro wave. When the waitress brought our bill she immediately asked if I wanted a machine in a snarly kind of way and I let her know that "no we are guest here" I thought she was going to faint. I am sure I made her feel even worse when I put a zero under the tip and a line through it. I usually give a minimum of 20% . The end for me was when we checked out and I explained everything to the "front end manager" who took my payment and her reply was "oh I'm so sorry can you let me buy you breakfast. No lady if the service at breakfast is as bad as dinner you can keep it. Don't recommend this as a good choice if your looking to pay $300 plus a night for a good resort. Try the Beach Acres Resort a block away that has great cabins as well for far less cost.
