Some issues

San Diego, California

The hotel room was nice and clean. Somewhat centrally located. Couple of nice, but pricey, restaurants in the hotel. I picked this hotel because it was connected to the PATH which is a series of underground paths or tunnels filled with shops, restaurants, etc. You can get around the entire city on PATH which is amazing and came in handy since it rained when we were there. However, the hotel is in the middle of a busy city so it was noisy, even on the 40th floor. Valet parking is available in front of the hotel but traffic is insane so difficult to navigate in and out. There is a self park underground structure across the street which is difficult to get to and the staff did not provide very good instructions, despite me having called ahead and asking a valet when we arrived because we couldn’t find it. We crossed the busy street with our luggage before finding out later we could use the underground PATH to access the hotel from parking. Lastly, there was some kind of loud and consistent noise which sounded like a subway or train. We could only guess it was the elevators despite the fact that our room was really not that close to them. I’m a light sleeper so I had to wear my earplugs all night.

Lovely Hotel

Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada

This is a lovely hotel. Great location, super comfortable bed and pillows, great views, etc. We stayed here 3 nights while my husband was attending a conference nearby. My only complaint is that we had a wheelchair accessible room and while the bathroom was huge and roomy, the room was a bit on the small side. My husband couldn't even get to the desk because the bed was in the way! We managed to move the bed a little bit so he could squeeze in to the desk (no small feat because it was on a very heavy base). No mini-fridge but they brought us up one when we asked. There was a robe in the room too which was nice. We arrived on the day of the Raptor's parade so you can imagine that it was quite crazy but we were checked in quickly. Very friendly staff.
