Housekeeping/management/colusion

I stayed at this beautiful hotel November 12th-15th with my daughter. We had a very disturbing experience. Upon checkout my invoice stated that if we had any concerns with our stay that they should be directed to Mr. David Connor the GM or they also welcomed a review on Trip Advisor. Given the circumstances I honestly hoped to take the concern up privately with Mr. Connor as opposed to going public. Sadly, despite my email to him and subsequent attempts to reach him Mr. Connor refused to respond or reply to my email. Thus I have decided to go public. Below is a copy of my email to him which I sent immediately upon my return. Good-morning Mr. Connor My name is XXXX and I recently returned from a stay at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth in Montreal. I was there from November 12th-15th/19 I will begin by saying the hotel is beautiful including the room, facilities, conference rooms , restaurants and lounges. I utilized them all. However, that's where the positive ends. Your front reception staff, including your concierge were less than pleasant. As a prairie girl I had " heard" that the people of Quebec can be less than friendly. I was not prepared for that. Your concierge , both the male and female whom I interacted with were clearly irritated when i began to speak, even rolling their eyes when i was inquiring about " touristy things to do etc" So, fast forward from that, I am 56 y.o and i was travelling with my 20y.o daughter, we popped in to the Nacaret Bar, wow, just beautiful. We were seated up at the bar and absolutely were impressed with the bartenders. Their professionalism and the skills in which they did their jobs was impressive. Hence why the Nacaret has the wonderful reviews it does. The bartender whom we met that night was named XXXX, he was everything your concierge wasn't, even in his broken English he patiently answered all our questions about " things to do around Montreal" restaurants, night clubs, attractions etc. I even asked him if he was familiar with the process of me possibly booking a conference room for an upcoming event. He answered everything the best he could and was even so kind as to give us his personal cell number if we had any questions. Unbelievably kind and generous, certainly went above and beyond. Anyway, my daughter whose much more text savvy then me texted him a couple different times asking for directions etc. On the afternoon of the 14th my daughter and I were out at the spa at William Gray when XXXX texted her back stating that he was " in trouble" as their policy was they could not have any contact with guests, and that " his number " was found in our room Needless, to say i was absolutely outraged. I spoke with XXXX who begged me not to say anything as he did not want to get in to anymore trouble and that it was " resolved" Well, I'm sorry but its NOT resolved in my eyes. Firstly, Mr. XXXXX number was not just LAYING around on the counter, I had stuffed it in with my conference papers so the housekeeper took the time to peruse my personal information and " happened to find Mr. XXXXX number"? And then to obviously take that info to her superior who then called Mr. XXXXX out on it? How is that ok? How is it okay the housekeeper snooped thru my papers? How is it ok that your staff ( her supervisor) took exception with XXXXX number being in my room but took no exception to the fact that the housekeeper clearly was snooping. Honestly, i am so outraged, I decided to contact you as opposed to posting this on trip advisor, but I am NOT okay with this. Perhaps, if the concierge staff were the professionals they were supposed to be I would not have to ask your bar-tending staff for information. Mr. XX was nothing but professional the entire time. He and I both deserve apologies and compensation and most definitely an explanation. The fact that the housekeepers supervisor was on-board with this invasion of privacy is sickening. I look forward to your expedient response.

Our tripthe

Our stay was very nice. The Christmas decorations were beautiful. Seems like the rooms are very modern. Not what I expected from the age of the hotel. It was clean. Pasqal the doorman was so friendly and helpful. Moe the resident attender ? Was so friendly and couldn’t do enough to make our stay happy. We will return. In the summer.
