Leaving Port Louis behind, you will glide north along the lush coastline to the protected marina of Dragon Bay. The bay is known for its colourful reef, offering the perfect opportunity to use of the complementary snorkelling equipment. For those wanting to start their adventure with some sun worshipping, grab a good book and a towel before heading ashore to the powdery sand beach.
Underwater Sculpture Park
Beneath the turquoise Caribbean waters is a collection of sculptures depicting life in Grenada. Doubling up as a home for sea life, coral has thrived making this an underwater playground for divers of all abilities.
Dragon Bay to Tyrell Bay
Sailing time: 6 hours
Today, you will be continuing up the west coast of Grenada and passing the tiny Ronde Island, breaking up the day with a lunch stop. Moor up in one of the horseshoe-shaped bays and work up an appetite swimming through the caves, before indulging in a picnic prepared by your private chef. In your own time continue on your journey until you reach Carriacou;as yet untouched by mass tourism, the islanders are friendly and the beaches quiet.
Snorkelling Spots
Carriacou has some amazing places to see moray eels, nursing sharks and turtles. For the best opportunities, ask your skipper to take you to Paradise Beach in Hillsboro Bay.
Tyrell Bay to Salt Whistle Bay
Sailing time: 3 hours
Start your day with a hearty breakfast in the saloon before setting sail to Mayreau, one of the smallest islands in the Grenadines. On land, you can hike to the top of the hill where you will be rewarded with stunning vistas from the Catholic Church across the island. Off the north coast, there is the wreck of a WW1 gunship;the vessel has become home to a wealth of coral and marine life and is well worth an exploration for any budding diver.
Clifton Harbour
Why not break up the trip with a stop at Clifton Harbour on Union Island? There are 32 dive sites nearby, hiking trails and numerous beaches making it the perfect spot for an extended lunch break.
Salt Whistle Bay to Tobago Cays
Sailing time: 1 hour
To the east, you will encounter Tobago Cay Marine Park comprising of five uninhabited islands that are scattered across the crystal waters, adorned with coconut trees and brimming with wildlife. Snorkel or dive in the protected waters surrounded by tropical fish and colourful reefs; or keep your head above water and stop by Baradel to see the wild iguanas that are lucky enough to call this slice of paradise home. In the evening, enjoy a moonlit meal of irresistible Caribbean lobsters on the BBQ washed down with some bubbles and good company.
Tobago Cays to Sandy Island
Sailing time: 3 hours
Cruising south, you'll next be headed to Carriacou and the tiny Sandy Island. Destroyed by Hurricane Ivan, the island has since been made a nature reserve, and as the name suggests there is a picture perfect pristine white sand beach scooping out to the cerulean sea in an inverted crescent, fringed with palm trees. Spend the day relaxing in a tropical paradise, ask the crew to ready the watersports or grab a lilo and top up on your tan.
Natural pool
Head to the middle of Sandy Island and you will discover the island's natural pool where you can bathe in the shade of the palms and wash the salt off your skin.
Sandy Island to St George's
Sailing time: 5 hours
Heading south towards the picturesque waterfront capital of St George's provides you with the opportunity to see Grenada's waterfalls, hiking trails and shopping. Not to mention the chance to see the Belmont Estate, a cocoa, chocolate and spice production estate that offers a number of tours, including a make your own chocolate bar experience.
Grand Anse Beach
Grand Anse Beach is two miles of white sand stretching along the sheltered side of the island. Calm waters are overlooked by a line of beach bars and restaurants,ideal for an afternoon basking in the warm Caribbean sunshine with a cool drink and good food.
St George's to Port Louis
Sailing time: 30 minutes
As you sailing adventure draws to a close you will make your final journey to the base in Port Louis Marina. Your next destination awaits, however there is still time to join a walking tour encompassing the Carenage Harbour, old buildings and bustling shops and cafes in narrow streets, ideal for seeking out a holiday souvenir.
