Itinerary Breakdown

Arrive into Cochin and you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Have the rest of the day to explore your resort or venture out into Cochin to explore at your own pace, alternatively relax and acclimatise to the time change.
On your second day, visit the magnificent Dutch Palace (closed Fridays), Jewish Synagogue (closed Fridays and Saturdays), St Francis Church and Santa Cruz Basilica. While driving along the coastline see the unique Chinese fishing nets which were introduced by the Chinese traders in the 14th Century.The tour ends in the Fort Kochi area, where you can walk through the historic Dutch and Portuguese buildings - the 500-year-old fort is amazingly well preserved.In the evening, enjoy a spectacular dramatic dance show where elaborately made-up dancers with painted faces and masks, drummers and musicians dazzle. After breakfast depart the hotel for Munnar (4hrs - 5hrs /150km). On arrival check into hotel. This royal resort is lazily nestled in the verdant slopes of the tea country and promises health with its soothing sunshine, salubrious climate and invigorating scent of the air from the tea gardens.In the afternoon, tea enthusiasts will love the visit to the beautiful Tata Tea plantation and its museum which houses curios, photographs and machinery, each depicting a turning point that contributed to India's flourishing tea industry. After breakfast travel to Periyar and to your hotel for an overnight stay. (4hrs/160km)
In the afternoon take a 3-4 hour walk through dense forests of Periyar, a paradise for nature lovers - an opportunity to observe the animals and bird life roaming the jungle, including herds of elephant and bison, who come to drink and bathe in the lake. This area of natural beauty is home to many species of plants and you will be amazed by the rich bio-diversity of this region. Overnight stay in Periyar.

In the morning enjoy a drive to a spice plantation to witness different varieties of spices such as cardamom, cinnamon, pepper, cloves, vanilla, ginger tea and coffee growing in their natural environment. Later on travel on to the backwater resort of Allepey (4.5 hours). On arrival, board your personal houseboat for an overnight journey. After breakfast, it's time disembark the house boat in Allepey, on the banks of the famous Vembanad Lake. Here, majestic canals, streams and distributes weave an enchantingly beautiful web. The gorgeous green of the fringed palms ripple in the blue waters and blend into intricate wavelets.

On day 7, relax by enjoying a nice leisurely breakfast in the serene atmosphere, take some time for yourself and indulge in an Ayurveda massage at the resort. Spend the rest of the exploring the charm and soaking up the relaxing atmosphere Allepey has to offer.
