Secrets Cap Cana

Westport, Connecticut

The management and staff at this resort are top notch. There are numerous employees and every one of them is extremely courteous. They simply can't do enough for you. The architecture and furnishings are beautiful and top quality. Maintenance is superb throughout the resort. The setting is as beautiful as any we've experienced throughout the world. The food was fine with some dishes outstanding. We will definitely return.

Amazing Resort!

St. Charles

We LOVED Secrets Cap Cana! We stayed for 7 nights in January. This resort was even better than I imagined. The grounds are immaculate...beautifully landscaped. The pools are amazing. The pool water was a good temperature so it wasn't too hard to get into. They have daily events going on (pool volleyball, ring toss, beach volleyball, etc.) so there was always something to do whether you hung out around the pool or at the beach. They have kayaks, paddle boards, and a sail catamaran....all included in the price. We took a lesson on the catamaran, then took it out ourselves. It was a blast. The Secrets beach is beautiful. After reading many of the reviews on this resort, I was very nervous about the "seaweed" on the beach. When we were there the beach was beautiful. The was a little seaweed here and there, but nothing I would think twice about. They raked everyday, and even had a tractor grooming the beach. We did hear, however, from the locals, that seaweed is terrible from late June until October. So I would not be going back during that time. Our room (building 3) was wonderful. The room itself was spacious (we had a king sized bed), the bathroom had double sinks, the massive shower had two rain shower heads so you could shower together. The room had a 48" flat screen TV, a decent sized closet with robes, slippers, a safe, and cubbie for room service if you didn't want to be disturbed. And by the way, our room service staff, Estimado Huesped, was incredible. He was the kindest, happiest worker ever. He made sure everything was set up "just right." We had a balcony that had a couch and tub (yes, tub) on it. (It would have been nice if the tub as jetted). Our view may have been the only thing that was lacking. If you looked to the left, you saw the ocean...gorgeous! But if you looked straight on or to the right, there is a huge building (The Hyatt) under construction. That is an eyesore. They work on it all day although the sound didn't bother us much, it's just unsightly. We talked to our concierge (Oliver) and he was incredibly helpful. He looked into getting us a different room. He kept in constant contact with us (by text) and we met up with him to take a look at a new room. After all that, we liked our original room better, so we stayed there, but Oliver certainly gave us another option which was great. He did everything he could to make our stay wonderful and relaxing. If we had any issues, I knew we could just text him and he would work to solve our problem. There are about 6 restaurants to choose from. Our favorite was Portofino, we had Melly as a waiter and he was great. On the downside, I never had a really good steak at any of the restaurants. The cuts of meat were too tough/grisly. The pool staff was great. We were offered drinks all day long...and the drinks were wonderful. The pool staff that ran the games were hilarious, a lot of fun, and always included everybody. We had never been to the Dominican Republic before. It is a beautiful country and the people are the happiest people we've ever met. Every person had a smile on their face and a positive attitude.
