Great time with room for improvement

Benbrook, Texas

The resort was great and we had a great time. I have to say, this was for our honeymoon, and was the most we have ever spent to stay at a resort. With that being said, I would expect it to be the best resort we’ve ever stayed at. Let me start by saying this, this is my opinion and you are very much entitled yours, so don’t be all upset if you’re in love with this place and I say something you disagree with (this happened already and my mind was blown). Our first complaint was the noise at night. There is, what I came to find out, frogs that are extremely loud at night. So much so, that we slept worse than we have ever slept away from home. People suggested to get ear plugs, but the gift shop was sold out. This was great confirmation that this is a common issue, and a huge mistake to travel without. My second issue was the service from SOME of the wait staff at the restaurants. My wife and I aren’t huge alcohol drinkers, so we tend to drink more water than booze at dinner, there were multiple time where we had to flag our waiter/waitress down to get them to fill up our glasses. Also on top of that they give you like four 8oz water bottles a day for your room, if they remember. Which once again didn’t seem adequate to us. Room service would take about an hour to get them to you. Okay so enough with the negative. The resort was beautiful the staff was extremely friendly. The food was the best I’ve ever had at an all inclusive resort, and the pizza by the pool always hit the spot. They have to sides to the resorts amenities. One side a little quieter, and the other side a little more upbeat and activity filled. We loved that and it gave us great options for the day. The spa was great and reasonably priced, just about the same as any other spa Youve probably visited at a resort. I think it was a little less than 300 for a 60 minute couples massage. Overall I don’t think I’d go back, just because I don’t think it’s s a great value, and money matters to me. Plus how do you top a honeymoon?

It does what it says on the tin

Ramsey, United Kingdom

Once you have done one Sandals you pretty much know what you are getting and this was no exception. Having done Antigua last year we found the Grenada Sandals to be smaller and more compact which was nice, but not as efficient by any means. We had a lovely room overlooking the lake and right by the gym with our own iguanas. However, even though it was low season there were not enough umbrellas to sunbeds either on the beach or by the pool and you need shade in that heat - come on Sandals. They kept running out of towels, mugs in the coffee shop etc, which is frustrating when you have paid all that money. Sandals is very much geared to the Americans and there were lots of very loud ones there. Maybe they felt more obvious than Antigua because it was smaller. The restaurants were good and the Sushi is exceptional - it makes it worth going to a Sandals just for that. Overall, it was very nice, but we think we are done with the Sandals experience now.
