Amboseli National Park

Amboseli Safari Holidays

Elephants grazing under Mount Kilimanjaro

You'll never forget the iconic sight of a herd of majestic free-ranging elephants strolling across the grassy plains of Amboseli National Park, with the snow-capped peak of immense Mount Kilimanjaro – Africa's highest mountain – in the background.

With several different habitats to explore – ranging from the dried bed of Lake Amboseli in the west to swampy wetlands with sulphurous springs, grassy plains and wooded areas – Amboseli is one of the best wildlife-viewing experiences in the world. As well as large herds of elephants, the park is home to leopard, lion, mongoose, impala, hyena, wildebeest, lesser kudu, wild dogs, giraffe, zebra, cheetah and more than 500 hundred species of bird.

During your Amboseli safari we recommend you head for Observation Hill, where you can see panoramic views across the park's expansive land to the springs where elephants, Cape buffalo and hippos come to drink.
