Itinerary Breakdown

Upon arrival into Nairobi, you will be met and transferred to the Intercontinental hotel. Afternoon is at leisure. If you arrive into Nairobi early why not take a visit to the Daphne Sheldrick orphanage or visit the Karen Blixen museum? These optional excursions can be booked and paid for in advance when booking your safari.

Leave Nairobi after an early breakfast for Samburu. On route you can expect some breathtaking scenery such as rushing mountain streams and fields of tea and coffee. Isiolo, a dusty outpost is the last major stop on the journey into the remote northern frontier district. From here it's a fairly short hop to Samburu.

Arrive at the lodge in time for lunch and then depart for an afternoon game drive returning to the lodge as the sun sets.

Early morning game drive is followed by breakfast, and time to relax by the lodge pool or the terrace overlooking the river.

After lunch there will be another game drive returning to the lodge in time for dinner.

After breakfast, leave Samburu and drive south to the forests of the Aberdare Mountain range arriving at Outspan for lunch and then an afternoon transfer to Treetops. Treetops is Kenya’s original tree lodge, legendary for its historical royal connection, for the animals it attracts and for the sheer joy of exploring a tree house visited by rhino, elephant, buffalo, lion, bushbuck, waterbuck and many other species.

An early morning start, start travelling to your next destination, the spectacular Lake Nakuru. This national park is well known for its fantastic bird life and you may get a chance to see flamingos. The lake used to be a shimmering colour of pink due to the beautiful birds lining the shores but due to the increasing water levels most of the flamingos have migrated. You will arrive at your lodge in time for lunch. Following lunch and a siesta there is an afternoon game drive, try to spot the Black and White rhinos as well as the endangered Rothschild Giraffe.

After an early morning breakfast, drive to Narok town via Mai-Mahiu with a brief rest stop and proceed on to Mara arriving in time for lunch at the Lodge. After lunch, depart for an afternoon game drive.

Early morning and afternoon game drives searching for the big five and other wildlife. It is possible to pre-book an optional early morning balloon safari, this gives you a unique, once in a lifetime 'birds eye' game viewing experience. Land in the middle of nowhere and enjoy a full bush style breakfast, complete with a table decked in silver cutlery, fresh Kenyan coffee, tea, fruits and champagne.

After breakfast you'll depart the Masai Mara and head across acres of rolling wheat and barley farms to Narok, the district headquarters of this part of Maasailand. From here cross the vast plains on the floor of the Rift Valley whilst keeping an eye out for herds of giraffe and gazelle before heading up the rift escarpment. You'll arrive into Kenya's bustling capital in the early afternoon. Once in the the city get dropped off at the drop off point or at the airport for your onwards travel arrangements.
