Another amazing stay at Kuredu

Kingston-upon-Hull, United Kingdom

This was our fourth visit to Kuredu and yet again it did not disappoint. From the minute you step on the island you are made to feel at home by all the attentive, warm and welcoming staff. The feel of the sand beneath your feet for your entire stay, without ever having to wear shoes, is something special. We celebrated our wedding anniversary on the island and had an amazing candlelight dinner on the beach - this was so romantic and we were made to feel very special. There are too many staff to mention in person but from room boy, reception and bar staff, waiters, chefs and taxi drivers - all staff are warm, welcoming and have a way of making all guests feel like they were important. Particular mention for: - Shareef our waiter in the O Restaurant who provided top class service each mealtime and again amazed the guests at the Maldivian night with his palm leave weaving. - Grace at the pro-diving team was amazing she skilfully escorted us on a full day reef hopping excursion and night snorkelling experience - her knowledge of the marine life and her friendly nature made these trips one of the highlights of our stay. Must also give a special mention to the crew of the ships that took us on our trips for their care and attention. - Tujan and Alvin the taxi drivers were always cheerful and smiling and somehow managed to remember all of the guest room numbers on the island. The food is beautiful, with so much choice there is always something to suit everyone's taste, even the most fussy of eaters. The food is buffet self service but it is an experience looking around the various options.......the only problem I ever had was deciding what to eat. We prefer the O Restaurant for its location and for the breeze that helps keep you cool whilst eating. The cleanliness on the island is excellent with room boys attending to each room 2 - 3 times a day, topping up the free bar in the room and the snacks / sweets. The ladies come to the island each day to keep the beaches and walkways clear of leaves etc. They work so hard during the heat of the day. The snorkelling is fantastic getting up close and personal with the resident turtles and also the reef sharks, rays and the abundance of beautiful fish. Whilst the island reef is currently recovering from bleaching it still provides a lovely experience, however I would recommend going on one of the snorkelling trips. Yet again our stay passed all too quickly but we will definitely be back to this true paradise on earth

A fabulous all inclusive resort!!

Navi Mumbai, India

A superb all inclusive resort with a decent house reef.We stayed for 4 nights in the jacuzzi beach villa and thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The reef is a short swim off the same side of the island ...infact there are corals growing attached to an old pipeline headed towards the reed. We saw lots of reef fish including baby nurse sharks and black tip reef sharks, few green turtles, whiptail stingrays, eagle rays ...all just while snorkelling off the jetty. They even have a ship wreck with loads of corals attached. One can see giant 4 ft tawny nurse sharks at night below the boats at the jetty...just carry a powerful flashlight. The beach villas are well designed with an open to air shower and toilet. Each villa allows enough privacy from neighbors and other fellow tourists. Considering this resort is nearly 31 years old...the place is very well kept. There are 3 zones in the island according to age group of the guests - above 18 only, above 12 and open to all guests. There are buffet restaurants, a la carte ones and bars which liven up the nights with themes and different cuisine. You are allotted one of the buffet restaurants as per your villa location..and if you wish to change the scenery ...you need to follow the house rules. Like all resorts there are different plans and upgrades. Excursions on the island can be booked make sure to plan all the complimentary and free ones as soon as possible else they get to be full pretty quick. Prodivers runs the snorkel and diving trips. I can say that snorkeling guided tour with Grace was fantastic. Most importantly, the resort has a kids club (ages 3-12 years)wherein the the kids can spend their own time and parents have their own space . Baby sitting however needs a prebooking. Resort provides free sea plane transfer depending on the offers and tourist season. We loved the place. Worth a visit.
