anniversary holiday

The hotel pool and grounds are stunning,a very relaxing holiday, The breakfast is good, the other meals are ok, not much choice and a little underwhelming. We went on the catamaran trip from the hotel which was really good, with friendly crew, the other trip to the south of the island was ok,but not worth a full day out of a weeks holiday, We both came home feeling very relaxed.

Wonderful holiday, shame about the food.

Leicester U.K.

This is a beautiful hotel in idyllic surroundings. We had a privilege room which was large, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The grounds are immaculate and the pools are inviting and never crowded. In general the staff were very friendly and helpful and there was never a problem being served at the bar The entertainment was very good and low key which suited the general laid back atmosphere of the hotel. A special mention to Dany and Clive who really made an effort to get to know the guests. The dress code for the restaurants was generally ignored with shorts and flip flops being the norm, even to the extent of baseball caps worn the wrong way round which we thought was a shame. It must be extremely difficult for the hotel management to insist that dress codes are adhered to without upsetting guests but it would be nice if individuals respected the hotels rules and regs. The one area which let the hotel down was the food. There was no consistency with the presentation or content of meals from one day to the next, especially in the a la carte restaurant, Saint Gerain. We had several meals where the fish was undercooked and the meat was overcooked etc. Breakfasts were generally ok with a reasonable selection of hot and cold foods. The buffets were a lottery, with one day being quite good and the next terrible. The chefs are obviously capable of cooking the food well as we paid separately to have grilled prawns and lobster and they were perfect. All in all we had a wonderful holiday, met some lovely people and if we go to Mauritius again Paul & Virginie would be high on the list for a return visit.
