Superb best ever but a couple of Issues?

Great Bentley, United Kingdom

Ok not going down previous reviews which are all so samey but rightly phrase this superb Hotel. Yes this is by far the best holiday we have ever had but the most expensive which you would expect for a top quality hotel. To start we landed after our long flight to complete chaotic mayhem as a British Airways had just also landed which I know is the logistics of commercial airlines going to remote islands. With over 500 passengers entering this small airport it had just four customs officers on duty which took over an hour to get through to then get into ques in all directions tying to get to the Tui rep to get our private taxi. It seems if you have a private taxi or coach this makes no difference to the speed you get on your way which was worse on our departure as the computer systems were down so everyone had to be checked in manually which was a complete nightmare again. This obviously has nothing to do with the Renzedvous and now obviously gets much better. On arrival we were greeting by our name and a very professional warm welcome and obviously English speaking was a delight to be able to communicate with everything. A garden view room 207 absolutely superb fresh clean with a bed to die for soft linin towels and everything you have read about except for me on a personal note No TV and a mini fridge with just a single bottle of water in it which I thought was a slight expected disappointment for the price being paid and first class standard of hotel. Note I know this is a couples hotel with top shelf all inclusive drinks but after a lazy day on the beach it would of been nice to come in shower have a chill out with a drink and catch up with current affairs. Again this is a personal quote and probably not general? We did experience a slight drain type smell sometimes when the shower was run or toilet flushed and the water pressure was poor running out completely one day in which we received a generic letter of apology from the management. To finish on the room one review commented on the non sensical reason for the four posts on the corners of the bed? Any idiot can see that if you notice a small hook in the middle of the ceiling it is used for a Mosquito net hung and draped over the four posts it's so obvious.. How do I carry on not saying the service is absolutely superb and you are waited on hand and foot by smiling first class people and again what a joy to be able to communicate in the English language. To answer off the few groans about the Grave yard and airport moaners in the reviews. If you walk along the beauterful beach yes next door is a graveyard I'm told for war veterans of times gone by?So what It's better than having a BOOM BOOM hotel next door you often get on holiday beaches in this part of the world? The airport noise senario is perthetic as you get up to five light aircraft per day no issue what so ever. After two days we enquired how much an upgrade to a Bungalow suite would be and told $220 per day but the computer system had crashed and they were unable to check if any properties were free for the last four days of our holiday which we wanted to upgrade? We for the next four days went to reception and every time the system was still down which seemed weird as the world doesn't come to an end when "The computer system goes down". Although our room number was taken reception NEVER came back to us so they LOST $880? The restaurants are superb and a mix which you can take your opinion from previous reviews but the service is superb. Mmmmm the Champainge tasting was very good with quality Shampoo and very professionally presented but it attracted very pretentious people watching and listening to them was fun as they just wanted to talk about what they had ,what they got and what they had done?To explain if I had said I had been to Tenerife someone would of shouted WELL I HAVE BEEN TO ELEVENERIFE? I think most were Audi and BMW drivers lol. The beach is beuterful and altough public no looky looky people tring to sell you that genuine Rolex. The water sports are mostly all included and top quality but one thing my partner and I were miffed about was although all water sports are free including Scuba Diving the fishing trip was $75 per person? You go on a three/four hour trip with six rods on board but we had just four fisherman including my never done it before partner.Lincon the dive instructor was supervising and because all the rods where not being used proceeded to use one which is no problem but gave no instruction perticually to my partner and was more interested in catching his own fish on the best spot on the boat? and Geuss who caughr the biggest fish. Just seems bizarr this trip cost $75 per person and all other water sports including Scuba Diving are free? Being couples only we didn't realise how many same gender people were holidaying which I found people watching was great fun very few tattood people not having made in England on them no scousers or jordies happy happy days but you are attracting a better clientel. To close you will not be dissapointed and all the good and even better points to mention example the individuals that work so hard in this lovely place and in this review I have to tried to add our own personal views. Just a note on tipping. It was so refreshing not to have to tip whenever you opened your mouth and not to have to carry cash around all the time was superb but we personally tipped individuals on our last day as do us Brit's and I must of dished out $300 as again on a personal note I never trust a Tip box is shared fairly. Shake a hand and discreetly give the person what YOU want to tip. If you personally message me I will be all to happy to answer any questions. Happy holidays Victor meldrew

Amazing resort

Northampton

Lovely hotel with amazing staff. We had a Verandah suite which was well equipped, huge bed, good shower & quiet efficient air con & ceiling fan. Good food in all the restaurants .Lovely beach & comfy sun beds. We used a local taxi company booked thro reception for our trips. An evening trip to the local street party & an all day around the island, we had our own itinerary, visit to the Pitons, botanical gardens where we swam under the waterfall. Our driver added some other interesting places stopping regularly for breaks & photo opportunities. He suggested a local village eatery for lunch, great food huge portions with drinks £5.00 for the two of us. Very friendly knowledgeable drivers would highly recommend. As others have stated this place owes a lot to it's staff quite a few have been at the hotel for many years some over 20yrs & one lady 46yrs. All take time to chat & make you feel welcome & nothing is too much trouble, from the groundsmen up to the GM. Unable to mention all the staff but must take time to shout out to a few. Lovely Nicole in reception, professional Carmen in the Trysting & terrace restaurant, funny Pauline(aunty) physio, Tania(woosh) activities, Guilford champagne bar & the beach bar staff who do an amazing job keeping you hydrated with all manner of drinks, changing towels with lots of fun throughout the day, many thanks to Tasha & Denson. Would also like to mention Stretch, Jojo, Shama and Liz. These & all the staff are a credit to the hotel. We will return.
