Disappointing

This was our 2nd visit to a sandals resort, our first was Barbados which we were wowed by. This resort unfortunately didn't live up to expectations for several reasons. The resort is a little bit tired and less wow than Barbados. Unfortunately the main restaurant and bar Bayside which is positioned by the pool was closed which had not been communicated to us. Alongside this work was being done to the restaurant while we were there which was extremely loud! We were visiting as a 4 with my parents and they had paid extra for a room with a terrace which had specifically been requested in a quiet part of the resort- it could not have been further from this! However they did after several days of us complaining eventually move them but to a cheaper room and we have not yet seen the refund on the difference between the rooms... The music started at the pool around 8am loud and club like - not the nice background vibe we had at barbados! Then the works started on the restaurant. We decided the pool was not right for us to sit at because of this so we sat at the beach but there were some days this was also incredibly intrusive! It felt a bit like some days we were on a 18-30s holiday in ibiza- not sure why we needed foam parties on a luxury holiday?! Big shame! The staff were varied in approach, some were wonderful, just what youd expect from 5 star luxury and others were rude and couldn't be less helpful. Reception couldn't even find a number for a hire car for us! There was attitude which was a huge shame. However some of the restaurants were exceptional such as La Toc- the steak was possibly the best my family had ever had! I'm sorry sandals but you should have advised guests of the works going on before we travelled and offered us to change the resort or dates of our trip to avoid clashing with the works - which we definitely would have done! Disappointing sandals as we were big fans.

Best honeymoon imaginable

We stayed for the first two weeks of December in the butler suite sunset bluff for our honeymoon . If you have any allergies let me start by saying sandals is a no brainer . I am often scared to travel because I don’t trust anyone to make my food , but I never had to worry , not even for one second , from the second I stepped on property ! Huge shout out to butlers skyler , Gilbert and brackus for waiting on my new husband and I hand and foot , anywhere we went , at any time . The room was incredible - I lived in the soaking tub and had breakfast on the balcony every morning . The resort was so much fun , had so many options and we already booked our next trip ! I cried when I left ! Will definitely be back and highly recommend !!!!!! Best honeymoon ever !!!!

Excellent Resort and Magnificent Staff

Arrived at airport on a Saturday afternoon around 3:30pm and quickly through customs and picked up our luggage. Within 2 mins of checking into Sandals lounge we were in the transfer shuttle and off to the resort. It was a journey over and across the island from South East to North West and took around 75 minutes. We were taken to the Club Lounge and checked in - welcome drink, cold cloth and check in pack all received and the new thing is advising room room drink preferences. Our room was a short walk from the Club Lounge (room 330). The resort is slightly spread out and on a hillside but some of the views are spectacular. The room was perfect and overlooked the main party pool. Lovely comfortable bed as always. Fully stacked fridge, soft drinks, juices, fizz, white wine choices and mixers. Gin not top shelf and local brand. For what you're paying it would be good, despite not being Butler Level, to have a decent (Tanqueray) gin (or other spirt) in the room. Great shower with very good water pressure. The room didn't have a balcony or a bath. Good TV but would have been good to have (as with other resorts) where you could access resorts, billing and restaurant info on the menu. The staff at this resort are truly magnificent. Every single was was charming, engaging and interested in you. I have never been to a resort where management are so high profile and always engaging with their customers daily, whether walking around the resort or while lying poolside, and always taking notes regarding your holiday experiences. We had a few issues during our stay and used the Loop. We got a personal call from Ravin Singh, Director of Guest Services who went above and beyond in resolving these issues, owing them and continually being in contact to assess how things were even up to our departure. We also met Christian poolside and discussed our holiday experienced and arranged a bottle of fizz with Moise, restaurant manager at La Toc. Absolutely superb and what really sets this resort out, despite the issues. Entertainment at night included steel drum music, country singer, bands, DJs and a highly amusing Mr & Mrs Quiz. The Club Sandals snorkelling trip took us off resort to the Sandals boat at the Castries marina. Interesting reef, but not the best snorkelling trip we've experienced with Sandals, and we were away nearly 3 hours for a c.45 snorkel. The beach is nice but not that powder white in some Caribbean islands where the sand does not absorb the heat. The water was lovely but not a huge amount of snorkelling off the beach. There are vendors on the but no hassle with a firm no. There are three pools, the main party pool near main lobby, a quiet pool near Le Pitons and the Sunset pool up near Armandos - the pool we chose daily. There were always beds available. Restaurants - La Toc - Superb. Le Pitons - Excellent. Neptunes - Excellent. Armandos - Excellent. The Cricketer's - Very good. We didn't try Kimonos or Soy. We also spent th day at The Grand, approximately 30mins shuttle transfer including a stop at Halcyon. Lovely big resort in a sheltered bay. Would like to return and spend more time here. We had a dinner reservation at Bombay which was superb. Downside, they no longer allow you to shower and change at Spa or gym which wasn't great having spend the day poolside and having taken a change of clothes. The shuttle transfer times are not great and first shuttle from La Toc to The Grande was 12 noon. On our departure day from La Toc we were able to book a slot at the Spa to shower and change before departure from the resort at around 4:30pm. All in all a superb holiday at a beautiful resort with truly magical staff. Massive shout out to Ravin Singh, Director of Guest Services. A magnificent asset to this great resort.

Beautiful island, great people, perfect resort

Home on Friday and rested up from a fabulous vacation at La Toc. Here's my review: Arrival and check in: We did the helicopter transport to the resort (worth every penny), a small van picked us up from the airport close to the resort and took us to the butler lounge where we were immediately greeted and offered a cocktail. Spent a short 15 minutes there and were whisked off to our room. Room: We stayed in the ocean front two story butler suite #32 and I will say it was amazing (I will post a video walk through.)!!! I would definitely stay in these rooms again and highly recommend them. Piece of advice, if you choose to use the bedroom sliding door to head to the beach or out for the night as we did, be sure to put a note on the door for housekeeping asking them to please not lock the door. If you don't they will lock it (as they should) and you'll have to walk all the way around to the front. Staff: Nothing short of the best we have had. Our butlers, Shanna, Elsa, and Gerland, were top notch and ranked up there with Samson and Henry from SEB. We have zero bad to say about them or any of the staff. My favorite aside from our butlers were Girsham at the swim up bar and the Security Guard Francis. Loved them both! Entertainment: at the pool they were just a blast. The county singer at Neptunes deserves his own label! Lots of fun but a bit short on night life. Diving: Again, everyone from the dive shop staff, the boat drivers, and instructors was just perfect and so much fun. Diving was beautiful! Two tank dives but It is a long dive trip for 1.5 hours under water. Left resort at 8am and returning between 1 and 2. Ocean and Weather: Perfect! Beach was red flagged two days but the pool will more than accommodate. Beach vendors and locals are very friendly and not at all bothersome. It rained for about 10 minutes every day, who cares....it's not like you're not wet already! 😂 No issues what so ever getting chairs by the pool even in the afternoon when we returned from diving!! Food: To me, it was sub par. But, I don't think any sandals has great food! La Toc was out favorite and Kamonos sucked. Just my opinion! Departure: Sad day!!! However, I've seen a lot of posts about the trip and honestly I found it to be beautiful and only just over an hour. No one got sick and seeing the island from the ground was really nice. To sum it up, if you're on the cusp about coming here don't be, it truly is a beautiful resort and really, everything was absolutely perfect. One must do to me is the candle light dinner on the beach!!!! Also, we did a digital detox and it made the trip even better. Saw so many people with their noses in their phones missing the fun and beauty around them. Go, have fun, and relax!!! It's one of the best!!!

Trip of a lifetime

We went to La Toc for our honeymoon and it was everything we dreamed of and more! We stayed on the bluff with the private pool and ocean view. Our butler was named Danelle and he made our trip unforgettable! We were on our honeymoon so we wanted to lounge most of the time and it was so perfect. The breathtaking views and wonderful service from all of the staff to the amazing meals we had, it was truly a dream vacation! We are at Armandos everyday for breakfast which was awesome (amazing eggs Benedict and my husband loved the steak and eggs!)! The adorable cats made breakfast that much more enjoyable and was one of our favorite parts! We hung out at the pool on the bluff a lot which was nice. Never overally crowded and pretty calm! Much calmer than the main pool. The main pool was fun as well but we found it was much busier so you had to wait for a drink a little longer at the swim up bar so we were glad Danelle alway packed us a cooler with rum punch! Also rum punch- so much delicious rum punch! The beach was so much fun! The waves are big and it was either red flag or yellow flag. But when it was yellow flag everyone ran to go play in the waves! We went to the grande 1 day which was also nice but honestly, la toc waves are more fun and worth it. And La Toc resort is much more beautiful and romantic. The grande was more of a party scene. One of our absolutely favorite things we did was the candle light dinner on the beach! This was such a romantic setting and enjoying the waves and the food was great! We did the surf and turf! All of The food was delicious, our favorite was the pitons restaurant! Also a lot of people say the private pools are cold- but ours was great and we used it every day! It was 100% worth it. We were there in November and the water was refreshing in the hot sun! Also If you're wondering if you should spend the extra money on butler service DO IT. The trip was perfect and unforgettable and Danelle our butler absolutely added to that perfect experience!
