Tanzania – Best time to go

Best time to visit Tanzania

The best wildlife viewing in Tanzania takes place between the dry months of July to October when temperatures reach 19–31°C. April is the wettest month and August and September are best for seeing the Great Annual Migration in the north. In highland areas, night-time temperatures can drop to 10°C.

Dry Season

The dry season falls between June and October in Arusha. This season has slightly cooler temperatures with sunny, clear skies. January and February are usually dry but sometimes sees sporadic rain.

Our Favourite Season

The best time to visit Arusha National Park is during the dry season (June to October), when you will experience sunnier days and see more wildlife gathered at the watering holes.

Rainy Season

Arusha National Park’s wet season offers mild temperatures that are similar to that of the dry season. The long rains fall between March and May and generally bring a lot of cloud cover. The short rains fall between November and December, although they are unpredictable and rarely all throughout the day.
