Discover Southern Tanzania
Our Discover Tanzania Tours are a wonderful way to venture off the usual safari track for your first-time experience of Southern Tanzania. This region of Africa boasts beautiful, remotely based reserves and national parks which are much quieter than other safari destinations in the country. This eight-day tour of Southern Tanzania will take you on a journey to two hidden gems, Ruaha National Park and Selous Game Reserve both of which offer a safari experience like no other.
Prepare to be spell-bound as you travel through the vast and diverse natural landscapes of Ruaha National Park, the largest National Park in Tanzania. With a high population of elephant and buffalo herds, as well as predators such as lion, leopard and wild dog, this incredibly remote park is a wildlife-enthusiasts dream.
The tour then takes you to Selous Game Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage site that spans over 54,600 square km. Known as one of the world's largest animal conservation areas, the Selous Game Reserve is home to a large number of lion prides and holds over 50% of the remaining endangered African wild dog population as well as over 400 species of bird. This location is also teeming with zebra, impala, giraffe and vervet monkeys to name a few.
