Experience the dramatic limestone karst cliffs, glorious palm-fringed beaches and shallow, crystal-clear waters during your Krabi holidays in Thailand. The jaw-dropping scenery of the most beautiful beaches in the world will only be the start of your idyllic getaway.

This is a protected Marine National Park, and so there is a lot of marine life that you can enjoy when you go snorkelling. Or why not rent a boat or a kayak from Krabi town or Ao Nang Beach and explore the area by cruising through mangrove swamps and quiet coves at your own pace? There are over 200 islands and caves waiting for you to explore them.

Krabi holidays for more than just beaches

If you love adrenaline-fuelled activities then stunning Railay Beach is the perfect place for you to visit during your Krabi holiday, with its world-class rock climbing cliffs, as well as incredible guides and top-notch equipment needed for you to try this exciting sport.

Go for a hike in the Thung Teao Forest Nature Park to see exotic birdlife and swim under the waterfall in the crystal lagoon. Head to the south of Krabi Province where you can where you can soak in the natural thermal springs of the renowned Klong Thom Hot Springs, before cooling off in a river.

Head into Krabi town for the day for a dose of genuine Thai culture and hospitality. This small settlement has authentic charm and restaurants, shops and guest houses a plenty, as well as quirky street art and colourful night markets. To connect with a more traditional way of life, visit Wat Tham Sua Temple complex near Krabi town, where Buddhist monks live and worship within a labyrinth of natural caves that are surrounded by forest.

Krabi is only a one-and-a-half hour flight south from Bangkok so it’s an ideal place if you’re seeking a combination city and beach holiday. Or why not extend your Thailand adventure with some time in Chiang Mai, where you can go jungle trekking or take a cooking course?

Krabi is a perfect destination for those who love beaches and fun outdoor activities – a haven for nature lovers and those looking to get away from it all. Railay Beach is a beautiful and popular place to visit. Set on a small peninsula between Krabi Town and Ao Nang, it is only accessible by boat. It is especially worth a visit if you are interested in rock climbing. Take to the water in a canoe and discover some of the 200 tiny islands to be found off the shore of this spectacular coastline. There are hiking trails to take you high into the hills where the vistas are stunning. Night life here is low key and relaxed, reflecting the easy-going southern beach culture, although some bars will put on fire shows or live music in the peak season.

“If you don't mind climbing a few stairs, then visit the Tiger Temple (no tigers present) but go in the morning or so temperatures are lower. It's hard work getting to the top - but the views are all the reward you will need. Oh, and remember to take drinking water with you and make sure your shoulders are covered as it is a temple.”

Festivals and events are wonderful to include during your Krabi beach holiday, offering a glimpse into the country’s authentic culture and traditions.

  • Songkran

Time your visit with the exuberant festival of Songkran, when the Thai New Year is celebrated. Expect to be splashed with water at every turn.

  • Chak Phra

Chak Phra is the southern Thailand festival, which is held at the end of the Buddhist lenten season. Buddha statues are paraded over land and sea on colourful floats and boat races are also a feature of this colourful time.
