Unique, secluded resort with jaw dropping views

A member of The Leading Hotels Of The World, this romantic hideaway is accessible only by the hotels private speed boat and set within the famous National Marine Park. Being at the heart of the stunning Phranang Peninsula and spread over 26 acres of coconut groves and bordered by three beaches, Rayavadee boasts two-storey pavilion guestrooms hidden among the palm trees and surrounded by towering limestone cliffs to create a unique atmosphere reminiscent of an idyllic southern Thai village. The pavilions’ unique circular design blends perfectly with the resort's natural surroundings and with the resorts recent renovations throughout, luxury really does come as standard as well as fine cuisine in the resorts four restaurants.

Experience a remote tropical escape whilst relaxing by the swimming pool located amid the rainforest landscape overlooking the Andaman Sea; a walk along the sandy beach or alternatively enjoy a Thai cooking or fruit carving class. If this is all too much, then unwind with a relaxing first-class treatment at the Rayavadee Spa. When it’s time to watch the sunset, the best place to go for a drink is The Grotto; nestled under an ancient limestone cliff on the edge of Phranang Beach, this venue provides a unique cave setting for an evening cocktail before returning back later for a romantic meal. With perfect settings, luxury accommodation and amazing service, there really isn’t anything to fault about this perfect romantic setting.

Absolutely perfect!

We’ve just spent 3 days at Rayavadee. During the booking process, there was some confusion about our airport transfer as well as our LHW Leaders Club upgrade - but that was all sorted out ahead of our stay. The hotel offers complimentary airport transfers for certain bookings, but they only run within certain times - the hotel is only accessible by boat, so getting to the hotel could be difficult/expensive if a transfer isn’t included, or if you arrive outside the boat schedule. As soon as we were met by the hotel airport pick-up - luxury van (complete with cold towels, bottled water and massage seats!) followed by luxury boat, we knew that we were in good hands. We were met at the pier by Susan and Chai, who gave us a very warm, efficient and professional welcome. They went into a good amount of detail about everything the resort has to offer. We were then taken to our villa - 345. We were upgraded to a Terrace Pavillion. We had asked for a good view, and that’s exactly what we got - we were placed right next to Railay West Beach, as well as being next to the pool and Raitalay Terrace restaurant. It did mean being a 12-minute walk from the main restaurant/reception area, but the grounds were beautiful to walk through, so we found the location to be perfect — you regularly see dusky spectacled monkeys in the trees above the walkways and monitor lizards warming themselves beside the paths. Our villa was stunning - lounge downstairs and bedroom/bathroom upstairs. Two outside seating areas. Beautifully decorated and furnished. Very effective air-conditioning. Plenty of bottled water (glass bottles which was very welcome from an environmental perspective). Wonderfully clean. No problems with mosquitoes. Staff were always friendly and helpful. They all really enhanced our stay, whether it was housekeeping, reception, restaurant staff, pool staff, spa therapists. Pool area was stunning. Beautifully maintained, with plenty of loungers - both in the sun and in the shade. We were always brought water, as well as a variety of sweet treats whenever we were by the pool. The hotel has access to two great public beaches. A lot of reviews mention the noise/disturbance from the long tail boats - yes, they are there and they make noise. Maybe because our expectations had been set by the reviews, but they didn’t bother us anywhere near as much as we thought they would. There were always areas of the beach without any boats, so it wasn’t a problem for us. The beaches were stunning, with white sand, turquoise water and stunning rock formations. Not sure why, but we were told on arrival that we had two 75-minute massages included with our booking - so we booked a visit to the spa. We had Thai massages which were just wonderful. We had breakfast at the main restaurant each morning (buffet with a la carte options), and also had dinner each evening at Raitalay Terrace restaurant (Thai or Chinese or Indian food or pizza). Again, all fantastic. The french toast at breakfast was unbelievable. Food at Raitalay Terrace also excellent, and we really enjoyed the singer/guitarist who put on a great show. Overall, it was an exceptional stay - the villa, the grounds, the staff, the spa, the beaches, the pool, the dining. We couldn’t ask for more. 3 days wasn’t really long enough, so hopefully we’ll be back!
