Phuket Holidays

Long, lazy days spent relaxing on stunning, palm-fringed beaches awaits; Phuket is paradise on earth, as colourful as it is cosmopolitan.

There’s plenty to explore; from the Similan Islands, counted among the 10 most interesting dive areas in the world, to the famous James Bond island in Phang Nga Bay and Patong’s exciting nightlife on Bangla Road. Venture to the shimmering temples, visit colonial mansions and even see elephants coming down to the waterfront to cool off in the waves.

Perfect for both laid-back and adventure-filled holidays, Phuket is also an ideal multicentre location; why not partner your stay with a few nights in Dubai, or visit the Phi Phi islands for some relaxation?

The wonderful thing about Phuket is that there is always something to do – on and off the island, come rain or shine, and regardless of your age and ability.
From chilling on your beach of choice to adrenaline activities and from romance to party revelry – the list of things to do is practically endless.

Many of the hotels have in-house spa’s which are just perfect for an indulgent treatment. Try your hand at some of the watersports available to you or perhaps take a class in Muay Thai Boxing, yoga or cooking.

When you are ready to explore further, discover the abundance of stunning beaches, delve into the rich history of Old Phuket Town and don’t forget to sample the fantastic dining and nightlife choices.

    Phuket beaches

Few islands can boast such an abundance of beautiful beaches as Phuket.

  • Phi Phi Island by Speedboat

Visit Maya Beach (known famously as the location of film ‘The Beach’), Monkey Beach and Viking Cave.

  • Phuket Old Town

    Phuket Old Town

Phuket Old Town is a wonderfully historic part of the island to explore. There is a great quirky atmosphere here, charming old Portuguese styled buildings not found anywhere else on the island and plenty of quaint cafes and shops to visit. If you can, head there on a Sunday night for the vibrant night market. Phuket Old Town is not huge but it would be worth planning your trip before you go. Fortunately, there are many online walking tours you can download to ensure you make the most of your time.

  • Phang Nga Bay and James Bond Island

This beautiful journey will take you to an iconic spot of "Phang Nga Bay" and various other scenic spots along the way.

  • Snorkelling

The calm waters of the Andaman Sea are ideal for snorkelling particularly between November and April. We have found that Naithon Beach and Merlin Beach are some of the best spots.

  • Delicious Thai Food

A typical Thai meal emphasises lightly prepared dishes with strong, aromatic components and includes four main seasonings: salty, sweet, sour and spicy.

"“Spend a day visiting Old Phuket Town. It’s often overlooked as it isn’t on the coast – but it’s really historical and interesting. There are some great walking tours online to download and follow, and even on the occasional rainy day it’s fun and easy.”

“My favourite beach on Phuket is Mai Khao Beach. It’s 11 kilometres long and backs onto a national park. It’s perfect for swimming, and there are lovely hotels which you can stay at or just pop in for a lovely lunch.’’ (Renaissance Phuket Resort & Spa)

Frequently Asked Questions

Flights to Bangkok take approximately 12 hours and 40 minutes excluding stop-over time. There are no direct flights to Phuket, however British Airways, Thai Airways and Eva Air provide flights to Phuket International Airport from London airports via Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok. There are also alternative connections with Emirates and Qatar Airways and other international carriers.

There are lots of boat trips leaving from Phang Nga out to Phang Nga Bay and James Bond Island. Choose an excursion and we’ll pick you up, drive you to Phang Nga and take you on a longtail boat tour of the highlights before dropping you back to your hotel.

The cost of living is generally quite low in Thailand – unless you are dining at a Michelin star restaurant of course. Prices on the smaller islands are more expensive than the mainland or larger islands. A simple lunch for two will cost you around THB400, and a local beer like Chang, or Singh, will cost around THB100.
