Exclusive Boutique Resort on Secluded Island

The Naka Island is an exclusive resort on Naka Yai Island, located just off the Phuket coast, accessible only by speedboat.  This boutique resort is a peaceful hideaway where you can spend time alone, or join in with one of the complimentary classes that take place each day.

The pool villas are positioned for upmost privacy. The bathroom or rather, the outdoor bath is the pièce de résistance. A covered walkway edged with tropical plants leads out of the bedroom, through to the shower (which also turns into a private steam room at the click of the button) outside and to the sunken bath. Tucked into its own sheltered alcove with in-built shelves for candles at night, it’s quite possibly the most romantic and relaxing bathing experience you’ll ever have.

Wellness is taken to a new, enticing level with offerings such as a fitness centre in natural jungle surroundings, meditation on a small islet, and boot camp sessions on the beach.

With three dining options available, you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to what to eat – but all three come with amazing panoramic seaview’s.

  • Secluded Island but only 5 minutes by speedboat to Phuket
  • Lots of watersports and excursions
  • Extensive Spa with signature treatments.
  • Stunning sunset dining

Few days in Paradise

madrid

We stayed at the Luxury Collection Naka Island last week. It was Chinese New Year and the hotel was full. Still, easy access from the airport, settled on a small island, sharing the place with a local village, the place is indeed a fantastic location for a retreat away from the crowd. We were given the villa number 50. Amazing Sunsets! Thanks The Villa are eco-friendly and there is lots of inter-action with nature. Staying from Monday to Friday we had time to discover the resort and the island. You can walk to the village and also to other beaches on the island. Very convenient. Within the resort, you can have paddle, kayak, hobbie cat and go around the island if you want. We experienced the restaurants as well as the Z bar. A la carte dishes are really good - even for breakfast. (Naka French Toast absolutely amazing). All is fresh and very tasty. The “a la minute juices” are at the top! The resort is also limiting usage of plastic (almost no plastic bottles, no plastic straws etc). Which is really cool. Erich and his team are absolutely amazing and extremely friendly. To name a few: Pom, Dam, Gift, Daniele, Yeen at the restaurants, Chef Sikh and his team, Beer and Oliver at Sport Club, Ann in Housekeeping, Gwael at Concierge. Remaining of the team is as good! All so caring and making your stay a paradise! So again a very big thank you for everything Erich and team. We hope to get the chance to come back soon again!

We almost got back on the Speedboat, glad we didn’t!

North Yorkshire, United Kingdom

Ok, this is going to be a very honest review, your going to think from my review I have wrongly rated it at 5 star... We arrived via speedboat following our transfer from the Airport, the speedboat got us straight to the island in about 4 minutes. We were greeted at the pier and escorted on a buggy to reception, 1st impressions are everything, you almost enter via the service area, you see the inner workings of the resort as all the gates were open into the service areas despite signs on them saying keep closed. We were taken to the concierge room in the heart of the resort, we checked in but then had the sad news, sorry sir your rooms not ready, I said oh! The news then came if you pay 5000 bht it can be ready! After a 14 hour flight even in first class my blood started to boil! The resort was only 40% occupied ( informed by a butler ) so why wasn’t our villa ready, I refused to pay so we were taken to the small pavilion on the beach to wait for our villa. The pavilion is used for on beach private dining, it was messy from the night before, not a good 1st impression. We waited for a while in the heat expecting a drink, no one came so we went to the pool bar to buy a bottle of water, walking past a light fitting on the ground with a used nappy in it! Our of the hotels control but it was still there 3 days later!!!! After 1 hour our room was ready and we got escorted in a buggy to our villa. The villa was large, clean, but tired, it looked recently refurbished but on the cheap, after 2 weeks on the island I started to notice, everything was being repaired or replaced but with cheap alternatives. At this point I wanted to go home, but we tested on the Sala, slept off the jet lag and decided we are here for 2 weeks give it a chance. We took dinner on the first night in Tonsai, the Thai and western restaurant, as we opted for 1/2 board we had dinner included, we had the menus presented, only to be taken off us and swapped for a reduced menu, the one that was included in the package, as I like Thai food it wasn’t a problem, however I would have liked the option to upgrade and pay more for meals not on the included menu. For some reason They insist on putting tired washed out blue tatty table cloths out for dinner, they cheapen the look of the restaurant, it looked much better without. The food and service was second to none, if you like Thai food, tell the restaurant team, they are so proud of Thai cooking, I think they are sick of westerners only ordering pizza or steak!!!!! Your in Thailand, eat the food. After dinner and 2 very strong cocktails we went to our villa. Ok, you will get eaten by mosquitoes If you don’t plan ahead, they do provide smoke coils in the room and a net over the bed but we were eaten on the 1st night, second day we went to Phuket old town and bought repellent with 95% DEET, don’t start on me about DEET, I know the risks.....not one bite after we managed our repellent better. The next day we got up after an amazing sleep and went for breakfast, great selection, a little clumsy, equipment is a little tired but, we went with the flow. One good thing is it’s served till 11 so we always ate till 11.30 with no pressure to leave. At this point on day 2 we decided, let’s stop looking for the negative and enjoy our stay....AND WE DID. This resort is like my first visit to Thailand 12 years ago, the staff are genuinely friendly, I think they get a lot of complaints about the resort, so if your friendly and polite you really get great service. And we did. Two real stars of the holiday resort are Yeen and Kwang. Two really nice ladies who work in the restaurant. They made our stay. My advise to anyone looking to come here is, do it but understand it’s not Dubai luxury, it’s a tired older resort, quite clunky in service, feels privately run, but don’t be mistaken, it’s not, it’s owned by Marriott, that’s why it’s criminal that so many corners are being cut. All refurbished areas have been done on the cheap, it’s such a shame. Our villa was 48, I think it was the best on the island, fantastic view, private and piece full, You must use the opportunity to get off the island, the free speedboat takes you to the mainland, then get a taxi to Phuket old town, stunning! I really don’t want to put anyone off visiting this resort, just be aware it’s a value luxury resort, let’s face it it’s 1/2 the Price of six senses over the bay, you get exactly what you pay for. Don’t expect to be super dressy for dinner, expect to see the odd football shirt on a guest, but please go with an open mind, do as we did, stop looking at the negatives and relax, so what if your towel has a bleach stain on it, get over it. If you want to relax and live a simple holiday book here, if you wand 5 star luxury sterile service book another resort. My advise to the resort. Get nicer place matts on the restaurant for dinner service and ditch the tatty blue tablecloths! If your replacing something in the resort, do it tastefully! Close the gates to your back of house areas, Tidy up the beach/pool bar, no one wants to see the back of an old fridge. Make your welcome better, 1st impressions are everything, a bottle of water or even a free snack in the restaurant would have taken the sting out of the wait! Thank you
