Really enjoyed my stay

Boston, Massachusetts

We stopped at Harbor View Inn for one night and really enjoyed the charm of this older hotel. The room was spacious with really comfy beds and the location is perfect to access the beach, pier and local restaurants. The service was a bit lacking but I could put up with it. I would recommend staying here if you ever get to visit Santa Barbara.

Nothing beats its location

Singapore, Singapore

I was so tempted to book Kimpton given that it had a tripadvisor deal that was close enough to Harbor View Inn's rates. Kimpton is right by the main drag - near Paseo Nuevo's shopping area. But fortunately I kept my Harbor View Inn's reservation. There are a lot of waterfront properties but this was the one closest to Stearns Wharf. If you want to go to Paseo, it's an easy 1.4km walk - mostly straight. It's also right by the Dolphin Fountain where the shuttles frequently pick up and drop off - up and down State Street or to and from the wharf and harbor. If you want the Funk Zone, it's right on your left - facing the wharf. I loved Mony's Mexican for food. I stayed at the West Wing. I booked a City Room view but got a 2nd floor room overlooking the pool with a semi-view of the harbor. What a view to wake up to in the mornings! There is a bridge by the carpark leading to State Street Coffee. Go there to see the ducks lined up and to watch the sunset. It's a well maintained property. Not your typical chain hotel though. Leaning towards rustic. If I have any complaints - it's the ac was a bit loud at times, there was a mosquito in my room and the bed was too high. No terrible negatives. The West Wing had a several short flight of stairs to get there from the lift. So beware if you are carrying heavy luggage.
