Great hotel

Room size was excellent with very large bathroom. Very comfy room. Nice to have the convenience of valet parking. There is a great place for breakfast close to the hotel. Check out Louise’s Pantry on Washington and Ave 47. They are open from 7-2 and have good breakfast and lunch.

Still good - big changes ahead!

Manteca, California

I've reviewed this place before and recently enjoyed a short stay. My impressions were overall quite positive. Rooms are very nicely updated since my last stay. One thing that's not new, but that stands out is the room design which is a bit odd. The sleeping area in on the main level from the entry way. The 'sitting' area is down a couple of steps which does break up the space in a nice way - those couple of steps though could be quite treacherous overnight if you have guests (or kids) staying on the pull out sofa. Small thing, but perhaps worth knowing. My room was very clean and in very good repair. I know the upgrades weren't very recent (a couple of years I think) but everything is holding up well. Big changes are underway outside, the pool area is being made much larger, many kid friendly features are being added including some large water slides. Construction was not much of a problem during my stay, but there's no doubt that heavy equipment will be working there for the next months. If you're staying later in '19 pay close attention to the construction as it undoubtedly will impact some stays. Once completed the much larger pool complex will undoubtedly make kids happy. Adults may be less pleased as the slide area is immediately adjacent to the Adult pool, will it impact that area, I can't say but my guess is yes. Another thing worth noting is that while the pool is being massively expanded there's no sign of expansion of the service areas (bar / food service / or restrooms). So there may be more people pulling on those already very limited services. Time and another visit will tell. I've liked this place in the past, this stay only reinforced those impressions. More negatively Hyatt does continue to hit you with massive hidden fees which only go up. The resort fee has increased yet again as has parking which is now $15.50 per day. A weeks stay here would hit you with nearly $500 in fees in addition to the room price. Hyatt are amongst the worst with their hidden fees in my opinion. Consider these into the price of your trip and you may find other properties with less (or less numerous) fees are a better value.
