Gave them a chance to make things right

Mentone, California

I try to give a property a chance to make things right before leaving a bad review. When I received my folio by e-mail, there was a link allowing me to e-mail the property if I had any issues with my stay. (The link was to someone named Joey Woofter). Below you will find my exact e-mail to the hotel. I received no response. I also received an e-mail asking for feedback about my stay and I shared my concerns. There was no response to that either. I'm not sure why I was asked for feedback if there was no desire to respond or correct anything. I initially said I would return despite the issues that occurred. I will not return because above everything else, customer service is important to me. The e-mail sent is as follows: "I have stayed at the property before without complaint. Unfortunately, my recent stay was not as pleasant. (Last night in room 210). We arrived at 10:00 a.m. yesterday for spa services. The truck that was chipping tree clippings was parked right outside the pool area for the spa. It was very loud and could be heard during our spa services and during the time we spent at the pool after spa services. There must be a better, out of the way place that truck can be parked while trees are being trimmed and chipped. I would like to suggest that you consider certain hours each day that the kids' pool area be open to adults only. It could be later hours when kids would be in bed. It would be nice to enjoy the lazy river without kids kicking and screaming and perhaps get to try out the waterslides. The adult pool was full of tree litter; more than I remember from last time I stayed at the resort. I'm wondering if this was because of all the tree trimming. I would suggest that on tree trimming days you have a staff member skim the pool a few times. (I realize this could be tricky if guests are in the pool). Staff is always wonderful in all areas of the resort. My only suggestion would be to the servers at the pool. If I am paying $15 per drink and I ask for a cup of water with my drink, I'd appreciate one be brought to me rather than have the server tell me to get up and go get water from the water jug. The grossest thing happened on this visit. When I woke this morning, there was a wormlike, larvae like thing crawling on the sheet near my face. I quickly knocked it on the floor, picked it up with a tissue and put it in the bathroom trash can. When I was approaching the bathroom, I saw another large, dead one near the entry door. I phoned the front desk and they sent the housekeeping supervisor to the room. She said she had never seen these before. Again, I think this might be the result of the tree trimming, so I would suggest that when tree trimming occurs perhaps some additional bug spraying occur. Finally, yard maintenance started directly outside our room at 8:30 a.m. It was very loud. I realize maintenance is required, but suggest it start later; perhaps 10:00 a.m. These things would not deter me from staying again or visiting the spa again; but I will definitely be asking if there is tree trimming planned because that had a huge negative impact on our stay. I would also suggest you consider letting guests know ahead of time, when they book for the hotel or spa, that tree trimming will be occurring. Thank you."

AWESOME resort and lazy river

The pool with the lazy river and slides was awesome. The area was well kept and the staff were great. They show movies at night in the pool. This was a fantastic hotel for families as well as couples. Rooms and dining at Bluember were also fantastic.
