Amazing hotel and perfect location

Llantrisant, United Kingdom

We stayed here just before the new year on our honeymoon. What an amazing place. The hotel has a real historic and classic feel about it. We got given two free drinks passes when we checked in as I was an IHG member and on honeymoon. The room had an incredible view over Union Square. We were also given a bootle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries as a small gift for our honeymoon which was very very nice of the hotel. There's a public nightclub on the top floor which we didn't get to see but heard good reviews of it. The staff were friendly and couldn't do enough to help. There's a starbucks right underneath the hotel as well which was perfect to get a coffee to start the day when going out and about. We will definitely be going back, hopefully sooner rather than later!

Old San Francisco Charm

San Francisco, California

As a San Francisco native, I love the days the Sir Francis Drake represents. It's beautiful and there isn't a neon sign in sight. My sis and I just spent 2 nights in one of their larger double queen rooms. We switched to a higher floor because in our first room we were level with a rooftop of vents. There was no problem accommodating us. Except for the lady who checked us out, the staff was wonderful and the service was great. I would absolutely give the SFD a B+, A-. The only things that bugged us were when we ordered room service, they don't bring a table so you're eating on your bed while one person eats from a desk. So forget the intimate dinners. Also, they add an automatic gratuity of 20% to the bill which is fine if you're aware of it, otherwise, you're over-tipping. All in all, it was great!
