Lanai Holidays

Lanai may be the smallest inhabited island in Hawaii, but it offers big things to visitors. Explore the two different sides to this laid-back island; indulge in luxurious resorts offering the very best amenities and championship level golf at the likes of Manele Golf Course, then release your inner adventurer by taking to the island’s rugged back roads in a four-wheel drive. Find hidden treasures on your journey, such as Keahiakawelo (Garden of the Gods) and Polihua Beach.

Drive roughly 30 minutes north of Lanai City to explore the 8 mile stretch of beach, known as Kaiolohia or Shipwreck Beach. Over the years, this shallow, rocky channel has wrecked numerous ships and a rusted oil tanker from the 1940s is still beached here leaving a ghostly presence. Although swimming is not advised here, the beach has excellent views of Maui and Molokai and is great for beachcombing.

Visit Puu Pehe or Sweetheart Rock for one of the most photographed spots on the island. You can take the short hike from the Four Seasons Resort Lanai along the rocky cliffs and tide pools; you might even spot spinner dolphins from this scenic lookout.

Arrive on Lanai via Honolulu in just 35 minutes by plane or take a scenic, one hour ferry from Lahaina Harbour on Maui; during the winter months, this ferry journey is also great for whale watching; Lanai works perfectly as part of a Hawaiian Island hopping holiday.
