Maui Holidays

Hawaii's magic isle

From watching the majestic humpback whales migrate from Alaska, to seeing the sun rise or set through the clouds at the highest peak in Haleakala National Park, Maui offers a splendour of stunning sights so it's not surprising Maui has been voted 'Best Island in the U.S.' by Condé Nast Traveler for more than 20 years running.

With miles of sparkling coastline, lush valleys and tropical rainforest, Maui is one of the most popular Hawaiian islands thanks to its dramatic volcanic landscapes, peaceful surroundings and abundance of natural beauty. One great way to see the island is by road; drive the 620 curves of the road to Hana, stopping at waterfalls and plunge pools to cool off en route. Visit the fog-covered forests and valleys of the Iao Valley State Park and take an easy hike to view the 1200 foot Iao Needle; one of Maui's iconic landmarks.

We also recommend paying Lahaina a visit; a historic town for shopping and dining and a few minutes further north from here, you will find the vibrant Kaanapali Resort, which is great for families and the resort of Kapalua; known for championship and private getaways. From Lahaina, why not take a boat over to neighbouring Lanai or Molokai, which together with Maui are collectively known as 'The Magic Isles'. Both islands are underdeveloped and unspoiled so you can experience local culture and see Hawaii back in time. Visit the fog-covered forests and valleys of the Iao Valley State Park and take an easy hike to view the 1200 foot Iao Needle; one of Maui's iconic landmarks.

Towering over the island and visible from almost every point; Haleakala Crater is one of the most popular sights to visit across the islands of Hawaii and our most memorable. Haleakala National Park forms more than 75% of Maui, ranging from cascading waterfalls and streams in the coastal areas to Mars-like red desert near the summit and the panoramic views from this dormant volcano are nothing less than breathtaking. Get up early and watch the sun rise from beneath the clouds and witness the colours of orange, yellow and red change the sky into day or after a full day exploring the island, take a picnic and a blanket and watch the sun disappear below the horizon and await the twinkling and bright stars fill the night sky. Which is the best? You will have to come and find out for yourself.
