Loved the stay!

Seattle, WA

We stayed in the historic wing and our room was large and beautiful! We did not have an ocean view but the interior view with the palm trees and looking over the resort were very nice. Although the pool is quite small you have use of the Sheraton Pool just right next door the ocean level, very convenient. It is wonderful to walk right out from the resort to the beach and would definitely like to stay here again! The resort was beautiful and the service was excellent! Aloha spirit at it's best!

Nice, but not great

Kirra

My family and I were so looking forward to our 6 night stay in a family loft suite in the Mailani tower. To be fair, I had very high expectations for the RHH. I have stayed in 5star hotels so I have an idea of the level of quality and service that should be delivered. We had also just spent a week at Turtle Bay Resort where the service and quality was fantastic. Firstly the bellman/valet/housekeeping are great. They are the saving grace of this hotel. Unfortunately this is where the friendly service ends. The rude, disinterested tall young Asian man at reception needs retraining or put into a role where he is not interacting with customers. He is not suited to the hospitality industry at all and doesn’t represent the RH in a good light. I can’t believe management has not been informed or acted on this issue as it is commonly mentioned in RH hotel reviews. Secondly there is minimal staff presence and the ones who are visible are not friendly and don’t attempt to provide a positive customer experience. Accomodations: Our suite was nice, however the double beds are too small for 2 people to sleep in. The Mailani lounge is a nice idea, but the food offerings, particularly breakfast, are poor and I question the food safety standards as meats and cooked foods were often sitting for long periods at room temperature. The pool area whilst pretty, is a fail. The fact that people hold chairs and then don’t use them for hours while people can’t get a chair when they are in the pool area is insane. As a consequence the pool is not a place that I wanted to be. The location is unbeatable! Having stayed at the Sheraton next door a number of times, we knew we’d love this spot too. The proximity to shopping and restaurants is second to none. Overall: Unfortunately my family and I won’t return again, and I say this with genuine sadness. I was hoping to have found our new home in Waikiki but with so many options, we wont settle for less than the best again.
