Extended family group enjoyed turtle barley resort as north shore base

Hobart, Australia

Oahu north shore is amazing! Wonderful beaches, casual eating options, spectacular snorkelling. We loved our time at Turtle Bay Resort as our north shore base and also for the wonderful pool, beach, and resort services. Children aged 5-8 had a wonderful time and their parents also enjoyed the natural and relaxed feel compared to busy Waikiki.

Turtle Bay Is Tops

Melbourne, Australia

This could easily have been a 5, but a few niggling issues (see below) pulled it back. Even though the main building itself is no thing of beauty, overall this really is a beautiful place to visit with great facilities, excellent staff, and lovely beaches & walks on the doorstep. The resort was very busy for the duration of our stay, but it absorbs the high numbers quite well. Even the usual pain point for busy resorts - the main pool - was always accessible both for lounging and swimming. Having their own beach, and other beaches around, is a big help. So many positives for this place: lovely golf courses, activity hub for organising anything you need, gym, beautiful views from your well appointed rooms, multiple restaurants (Roy's Beach House a stand out), really good pool bar, super close to the famous north shore beaches and beautiful Haleiwa, close enough to Honolulu without being too close. The only things that let it down were the on-site parking fee of $15/day ... it is 40 miles from Honolulu, surrounded by farmland, and has no other major resorts nearby ... please. One poor meal at Kula Grille; some environmental wastage at breakfast; and no ability to check-out the night before were the only teething issues. If you get the chance (we prepaid to make it affordable!), then don't hesitate!

Let the children enjoy a fun fishing excursion where they can experience the gentle thrill of Hawaiian fishing. Plus, if they don’t catch a fish, you don’t pay! Serious fishermen and women may instead prepare the non-guided fishing option where the resort can drop you of at the special fishing site and pick you up at the end of the day.

Offering 180 acres and 18 holes of uninterrupted golf, this is a must visit feature.
