Home to the Dallas Cowboys and setting of one of the most glamorous soap-operas ever made Dallas has secured its position asone of the top destination in Texas. Dallas is made up of some fantastically diverse neighbourhoods, from the Deep Ellum District to Highland Park Village Dallas, there is so much to discover here.Take a stroll around downtown to see the Dallas Arts Museum, Opera and Arts District and jump on the free trolley and experience the nightlife of cosmopolitan uptown.
Destination 3: Austin
If Texas does unconventional then you will find it in Austin. Laid back and collegiate, the city has a strong libertarian vibe and with equal focus on music, including blues and jazz and indie rock ‘n roll. A hip urban scene, Austin hosts two major music festivals; South by Southwest and Austin City Limits. For a slice of traditional honky-tonk head over to the Broken Spoke for a taste of Texas dance hall. The favourable climate means there’s ample opportunity to explore the great outdoors.
