One of Rhode Island’s most historic hotels

Hotel Viking is an iconic Rhode Island hotel and is now part of the Historic Hotels of America group. The hotel opened its doors back in the 1920’s and perfectly captures the glamour and style of that era, with an impressive mock-Georgian facade and an elegant interior complete with Golden Age styling and furnishings. Enjoy award-winning fare at the One Bellevue dining room or take to the rooftop for drinks in style at the Top of Newport bar. Thanks to its central location, guests can reach The Breakers, Easton’s Beach and more in just a short drive and then retire of an evening to the elegant guest room for a great night’s sleep.

Wedding visit

Was in town for a wedding. The service was Excellent, all the staff were friendly and accommodating and Roy, the Concierge, was very helpful. When we go to Newport again we would definitely stay there.

Great, classic hotel

Sandton, South Africa

Spent 3 days in this establishment while in Rhode Island, Newport for work. Their first impressions with me was on a lat down, we got at the hotel around 18h00 but my room was not ready and had to wait for another hour before I could check in. But all that impression was salvaged by deco, ambiance and employees of this establishment. The hotel has classic touch to it and the room I had was spacious and comfortable. The employees are what makes this place magical, they were helpful, accommodating and super friendly. One night we went out for dinner with the group I was traveling with to eat clams and I came-back still starving, so went to the in-house restaurant for some food. I got there just before the restaurant closed and they were, more like they should have been eager to wrap up so that they rest, but instead they warmly welcomed me and few other people after I got there. While I was waiting for my meal, the manager/ supervisor offered a drink on the house... After the 1st night, the person who was cleaning my room mistaken my washing clothes with that of the hotel ( lesson learnt : never take off white clothes when traveling) so they cleared them out with the rest of the items that needed cleaning. After notifying the hotel, they send me a brand new pack of 6 quality washing clothes.
