Green Mountain Inn

Character property with resort-style amenities

This historic inn dates from the early 1800’s and has played host to presidents and other notable figures over the years. Nowadays the inn has transformed into a beautiful luxury hotel with a wide range of facilities and a wonderfully central location in the heart of Stowe. As well as two acclaimed restaurants, guests can enjoy plenty of amenities including a year-round heated pool and submerged Jacuzzi tub, a fitness centre, a massage centre and complimentary afternoon tea and cookies for a touch of indulgence. The decor and rooms are traditional, cosy and rather comfortable, making this the ideal base for an authentic period stay in Vermont’s premier town resort.

Excellent visit

We stayed in the Mill House section of the Green Mountain Inn. It was absolute perfection--comfortable bed, spacious bathroom, very clean and quiet, good air conditioning on the hottest week of the summer, and close to all of downtown Stowe. What a gem!

Great Place to Stay, Even on President's Day Weekend

Green Mountain Inn was the perfect place to stay with family over President's Day weekend. Although it is an incredibly busy weekend, the Inn was a wonderful retreat from all of the hustle and bustle. The steamy, outdoor pool was welcome after a day of skiing, and the fire pit was really nice. Our rooms were lovely and comfortable. We really enjoyed the tea, cookies, and hot cider provided in the afternoons, as well as the quiet library and sitting area. These especially came in handy since some of us had to do a little work over the weekend. The Inn is within walking distance of several restaurants, shops, and a beautiful park. The hotel restaurant, The Whip, is quite good, but I suggest you make reservations. I highly recommend the Green Mountain Inn, and we would love to stay there again.
