Very nice lobby....Rooms need serious updating

Hoboken, Georgia

We are Disney Vacation Club members and The Parker is part of their "Concierge Collection" so we were able to use our points to pay for the stay. I have to say that this hotel is not up to standards we are accustomed to in booking through DVC. The lobby is very nice...marble tile everywhere. The staff we encountered were great. Our room was not ready when we arrived, and after sightseeing and eating lunch for a couple of hours, returned and were initially told it would be two more hours, but the desk clerk worked some magic to find us a room that was available. We really appreciated his extra effort. We had a "junior suite". It was pretty spacious with a separate living room. The room was very dated....looked like it was decorated in the '70s. Also, there was no fridge, coffee maker or any sort of wet bar. They did have an ice bucket sitting on a counter that looked like it used to be a wet bar area, but I failed to find an ice machine on our floor. AC was mediocre. Sometimes cool, sometimes not so cool. It was very clean however. Housekeeping did a great job. This hotel is in a great location, centrally located between Times Square and Central Park. Overall it was a good stay. I don't think I would stay here again unless a room renovation took place.

Great location, average hotel

Playa Carrillo, Costa Rica

Great location, but average hotel. Seems to get a 4 star rating because the lobby is big and there are very nice facilities (pool, restaurant). But the rooms were only average or less, i.e., 2-3 star.
