A busy, trendy hotel in a great location.

Manchester, United Kingdom

Arriving at the hotel, my initial impression was that it gave off a young and trendy vibe: it suited me! I was travelling with my mother who felt the lighting in the foyer was too dark; she couldn't read the booking details from her print out. Upon entering our room, our initial though was: small. Although I am sure this is the case in most places in New York. What really confused us was the bathroom/bedroom scenario. There was a window between the bedroom and bathroom which made all bathroom activities visible from the bedroom. This might be awkward enough for a couple but for a mother and daughter we felt it was quite inappropriate- I do not want to be able to see my mother showering! We requested a new room and were kindly accommodated with a different (slightly larger) room. The room was still rather basic, it felt a little dusty and the noise from the street could be heard at all hours of the night. However, in reality we spent very little time in the room and so this was not a huge concern. The terrace was lovely, as were the views from it. The restaurant had a nice theme and the decor of the hotel itself I found to be quite cosy and inviting. The location was excellent. Around the corner from Central Park and Columbus Circle subway. Other key sites were within a short walking distance: Time Square, Rockefeller Centre, 5th Avenue etc.

Weekend NYC Trip

Los Angeles, California

The rooms are tiny even per NYC standards. It’s a nice location near Central Park and walkable to Times Square. The decor is average, dark hallways, breakfast was good, and staff was really very kind, especially towards my son (they even gave him a book!). Thank you.
