Yellowstone National Park Holidays
Sat amidst the wilderness of The Rockies, Yellowstone was the first area to be declared a National Park. Yellowstone National Park holidays guarantee adventures, with vistas of towering mountains and open meadows of wildflowers, erupting geysers and tumbling waterfalls. Here, wilderness remains untouched and extraordinary wildlife roams free; and it all waits to be savored.
Natural wonder abounds at Yellowstone National Park, from the shimmering dark blue waters of Yellowstone Lake that sits 7,733 feet above sea level, to the geological marvel of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. Watch in awe as geysers erupt over the park, tell-tale signs of the geothermal activity just beneath Yellowstone’s surface. Wait in anticipation next to one of the most predictable geysers, Old Faithful, and see the spectacular show it puts on. Take in the natural sculpture of Mammoth Hot Springs and the surreal blue pool encircled by rings of vibrant orange, yellow and green at Grand Prismatic Spring.
Yellowstone National Park’s Breathtaking Wildlife
Amongst the mountains, rivers and lakes of Yellowstone live an abundance of wildlife, from wolves and bears to almost 300 species of birds. Animals run free here; as you drive through the park, don’t be too surprised if you find yourself having to stop for majestic bison to cross the road. Journey along highway 212 to the grasslands of Lamar Valley to spot some of the biggest land animals that roam the park, including bison, elk, moose and bears. Hike to the summit of Mount Washburn and, as well as breathtaking views of the Hayden Valley, you may just get to witness a flock of bighorn sheep meandering the slopes below.
Join a specialist wolf and wildlife tracking guide as they take you around the park in search of black and grizzly bears, buffalo, elk and wolves on our Yellowstone Wildlife Trail escorted tour. Continue exploring the flora and fauna by combining your Yellowstone National Park holiday with a trip to nearby Grand Teton National Park.
