The Great Smoky Mountains – Best time to go

Best time to visit Great Smoky Mountains

With its position in northern Tennessee the summer days are less humid than other areas of the Deep South making summer a fantastic time to visit this national park. In fact July tends to be the busiest month for visitors. Autumn here is spectacular with the changing colours of the foliage. You may be surprised to learn that winters can be quite cold here and will often see roads closures due to heavy snow fall.
