From the iconic landscapes of the wild west to the rugged pacific coastline and world-famous national parks, this once-in-a-lifetime motorcycle tour lets you experience the unparalleled natural beauty of America’s West Coast by bike.

Over 16 days, you’ll ride through California, Arizona, Utah and Nevada, seeing some of the world’s most incredible natural landmarks as you go. These include the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Joshua Tree and Yosemite National Park

You’ll cover an incredible amount of ground and diverse terrain - from the winding mountain roads of the Sierra Nevada to the Pacific Coast Highway. With such a variety of landscapes along the route, you can experience the searing heat of Death Valley and relax in the ski town of Mammoth Lakes, all on the same trip. There’s time for some city sightseeing too, with stopovers in Las Vegas, San Francisco and Palm Springs thrown in.

This itinerary has been carefully curated to include all the must-see landmarks of the region and it offers some of the best riding in the world, including along the legendary Route 66. At the end of the day, you’ll return to comfortable accommodation, chosen for its location, style and amenities, so you can get a good night’s rest before beginning your adventure again.

Santa Monica Pier

Your Wild West adventure starts in exciting Los Angeles. After taking the shuttle to your hotel, you’ll meet your tour guide and fellow riders for orientation. Then, there’s time to explore all the famous sights of Los Angeles. Why not head down to Hollywood or see the famous Santa Monica Pier? If you prefer, you can just relax at the hotel and prepare for tomorrow’s ride.

Cable Car

The ride of your life starts today. After breakfast, you’ll pick up your bike from EagleRider in Los Angeles and ride to the shores of the pretty Lake Elsinore. From here, it’s onwards to Palm Springs, through the winding mountainous roads of the San Bernardino Forest and then past the San Jacinto Mountains. As you begin to descend towards Palm Springs you’ll be met with wonderful panoramas. Once here, you can enjoy dinner, and then explore the town, or simply relax.

Gape at the moon-like landscape of Joshua Tree National Park, then ride onto Twenty Nine Palms and into the Mojave Desert. Here, your trip takes a very special turn, as you enter America’s most celebrated and legendary highway, historic Route 66.

Today you’ll have the opportunity to ride on one of the oldest remaining stretches of Route 66, known as the heart of the highway, as you make the journey from Laughlin on the Colorado River. Head onto the historic town of Kingman, and then to Seligman for lunch.
In the afternoon, you’ll enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime ride as you head towards the awesome Grand Canyon, one of the seven natural wonders of the world and a top of ‘bucket list’ destination.

Monument Valley

Soak in the sights, sounds and smells of the magnificent Grand Canyon. You’ll cruise along the South Rim of the canyon, stopping for photo opportunities and savouring the unrivalled views before leaving the park and heading to Monument Valley.

Monument Valley is the archetypal Wild West landscape and inspiration for so many classic Western films. From the depths of the valley, imposing sandstone buttes with red and orange hues rise up, forged over millions of years from sandstone. The largest of the buttes rises almost 1,000 feet above the valley floor. This is sacred ground for the Navajo people. For an unforgettable experience, you can add on an optional special tour the valley with a Navajo guide and enjoy the stories of this hallowed place.

Get a taste of the Gold Rush era as you ride from Monument Valley to the old gold mining camp of Mexican Hat. which is named after a local sombrero-shaped rock. From here, it’s a stunning ride past the Valley of the Gods and on to the dazzling waters of Lake Powell. This body of water is huge, covering more than 2,000 miles of shoreline, and bursting with side canyons filled with water. The incredible landscape continues as you ride past Capitol Reef National Park, the wild terrain of Devil’s Backbone, and Escalante. Continue on to Bryce Canyon, where you’ll rest for the night after a wonderful day of riding.

Bryce Canyon offers an intriguing landscape known for its unique and impressive hoodoos: imposing spires of rock that burst from the ground like sandstone pillars. You can spend the morning discovering the canyon before continuing to the prehistoric-looking Zion Canyon, in Zion National Park. Here, imposing yet intricate rock formations surrounds lush green vegetation that gives the park a primitive quality like ‘the land before time’.

The splendour and serenity of these canyons is just a short ride away from one of the most exciting cities on earth, Las Vegas, where you’ll spend tonight and tomorrow.

The Strip

Today is left free so that you can explore and discover all that this dazzling city has to offer. Eat, drink and relax;. You might like to try your luck at one of the world-famous casinos, or go watch a show. You could even ride the famous roller coaster at ‘New York, New York’, or just wander down the legendary strip and soak up the atmosphere. The choice is yours.

Are you ready to ride through one of the hottest places on earth? Today, you’ll head west from Las Vegas and enter California’s notorious Death Valley, one of the driest, lowest, and most extreme habitats on earth. As you ride through the valley, you’ll start to ascend through winding mountain roads to the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains before arriving in the ski resort of Mammoth Lakes. In just one day, you’ll ride from the lowest point in the United States to a mountain resort that sits more than 7,000 feet above sea level.

Yosemite National Park

Head north from Mammoth Lakes to Tioga Pass and then on to one of the country’s most famous national parks, Yosemite. These challenging roads are full of twists and turns but offer an exhilarating ride, made even more special by the scenery that surrounds you. With its sheer rock faces, shimmering lakes and giant sequoia trees, Yosemite itself is spellbinding in its beauty, and you’ll have time to explore this wonderful spot before spending the night in nearby El Portal.

Mariposa Grove

Ride through historic gold mining towns as you make your way to San Francisco. You’ll ride through Marin County – one of the wealthiest counties in the United States – seeing lush forests, beautiful beaches and getting a flavour of Californian luxury as you go. With the city in your sights, what better way to enter San Francisco than over the city’s most famous landmark, the splendid Golden Gate Bridge?

Cable Cars in San Francisco

Today is yours to explore all the sights and attractions of San Francisco. Wander on foot or take a cable car for excellent views of the city. Cross the Golden Gate Bridge, have a meal in Chinatown or check out the restaurants, shops and bars of Union Square. There’s so much to do in this buzzing city by the bay.

Today you’ll hit the famous Pacific Coast Highway for another awesome ride. You’ll ride along the coastline from San Francisco to Pismo Beach via the coastal town of Monterey, taking in some of the most spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean along the way. There’s plenty to do in Monterey. Stroll down the famous waterfront street, Cannery Row, visit the aquarium, or see the automobile and motorcycle racetrack before the tour continues.

Your scenic ride along the Pacific Coast Highway continues. Cruise along the cliffs of beautiful Big Sur with the Santa Lucia Mountains in the distance and the Pacific Ocean crashing around you. Enjoy the incredible vistas as you stop for lunch and observe elephant seals at the Elephant Seal Rookery before arriving at your next destination, Pismo Beach.

As your incredible Wild West Coast motorcycle tour comes to an end, you’ll ride from Pismo Beach to Los Angeles along Highway 101, flanked by the crashing waves of the Pacific Ocean on one side, and imposing mountains on the other. You’ll be able to see some of California’s famous vineyards as you ride, passing through Santa Barbara and by Malibu. After reaching Santa Monica, it’s onwards to EagleRider HQ to return your motorcycle and conclude your West Coast America road trip. A farewell dinner with your fellow riders is the perfect way to finish this incredible tour.
