Focused on a feast of East Coast America, the Great Eastern Cities tour is a wonderful city spectacular that starts in the New York, then takes in the thunderous Niagara Falls, before detouring through beautiful Amish country and visiting the capital Washington DC. 

Catch glimpses of the iconic skyline of New York and absorb the hustle and bustle of the big city before heading through New York State, making your way through the Finger Lakes and crossing the border into Canada. Spend time at Niagara Falls viewing the Horseshoe Falls before heading back into the USA. Travel through the Appalachian Mountains towards the capital and the home of politics Washington DC. Continue on to the city of brotherly love Philadelphia.

Itinerary Breakdown

Arrive in New York, the city that never sleeps and transfer independently to your hotel, where you will meet your Tour Director.

Once you've checked into your hotel, head to the Empire State Building to see the magnificent skyline light up before your eyes. The following day enjoy a city tour of New York including some of the Manhattan’s most famous sights. Catch glimpses of the iconic skyline as you absorb the bustle and energy of the Big Apple. As you have the rest of the day at leisure, we recommend taking a sightseeing cruise on the Hudson River or maybe you want to see the Statue of Liberty. Maybe a spot of retail therapy is what you need, if so head to 5th Avenue or the famous department store Macy's.

Today, drive across New York State through the Finger Lakes Country and towards the Canadian border, arriving at one of the world’s natural wonders, breathtaking Niagara Falls. Indulge in a spot of wine-tasting at Watkins Glen, on the shores of Lake Seneca, named for the Seneca Indian Nation. Spend the evening at the romantic Niagara Falls.

This morning you will have time to explore the Falls. Perhaps take a stroll along Table Rock to view the thundering waters of the Horseshoe Falls. Depart Niagara and travel into Pennsylvania Dutch country, also known as Amish Country, for your overnight stay.

This morning travel through the Appalachian Mountains along the picturesque Susquehanna River, the longest river on the American East Coast. Visit the historic Gettysburg Civil War National Battleground, site of the largest battle ever fought on American soil, and the place where President Lincoln gave his famous address in 1863. From here, you will journey to the nation’s capital, Washington, DC.

Enjoy a city tour with such highlights as the U.S Capitol Building, Lincoln Memorial, the White House and Arlington National Cemetery, site of the JFK Memorial. This morning, we continue our journey to Philadelphia, the “City of Brotherly Love” and the birthplace of America, where the Declaration of Independence was adopted on July 4, 1776. Here you will see Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell on a comprehensive city tour.

This morning we return to New York City. Passengers may leave the tour at Newark International Airport at approximately 10:30 am or at JFK International Airport at around 12:00 pm, or at The Lexington New York at around 4:00 pm. From here you will travel home, or you can extend your stay in New York.
