Wonderful experience !

Buffalo, New York

The staff at the Fairmont Hotel in Georgetown, WDC were incredible. The accommodations were fabulous and it was a great experience to stay there, overall. I was traveling for a Conference and must tell you that it is one of the best hotel experiences I can ever recall. There is a Restaurant named Juniper. I was very impressed with the friendliness and care shown by the Hostess, Patrice. She was lovely and so helpful to me during my 5 nite stay. Equally impress was the server Juan....a true professional and attentive and polished. I would love to visit there again. It was a truly memorable trip made all the more wonderful by such a great staff.

Not a five star welcome

England

The hotel is in a good safe location a short walk to Georgetown restaurants and harbour front. It’s much further from the Mall and museums than I’d expected but the hotel has free bikes, which if you are a Le club Accor member you can borrow for 4 hours. 11th and MSt have cycle lanes and this was a good route back. It was long enough to get down the mall and see some of the monuments and stop for a quick bite. I had a balcony room but there’s no chair so it’s a bit pointless and, because it overlooked the courtyard, when there was a function on it was very noisy till late. The mosquitos were out in force during my stay so maybe they had removed chairs because of that? The decor was very plain. Room had toiletries, hairdryer and a coffee machine. Also a mini bar which I didn’t use but got a bill for a drink under my door on check out day. When I queried it they just said ok and then threw it in the bin so I wonder if it’s a regular thing. I didn’t have breakfast as there’s coffee shops within five minutes walk. I’ve left a separate review for Juniper which I wouldn’t recommend. None of the staff were welcoming apart from one barman. The concierge asked me three times if I was a le club Accor member, despite me confirming it on sign in. I think the bikes are only available for two hours if you’re not. Lastly there’s a charge for wifi of >$30 a day but if you’re in Le club it’s free. Why anyone feels they can charge for WiFi these days is beyond me. I had stayed one night in the River Inn in Foggy Bottom where the welcome from staff was wonderful, the room lovely and the restaurant served really good food. If I ever come back to Washington I’ll stay there.
