Great Hotel - Couldn’t fault a thing

Sandy, United Kingdom

We stayed here for 16 nights and from Check in - Check out; all was great. We arrived at 10am and were greeted with a much appreciated cold hand towel and welcome drink. The room we were allocated was still in use and the hotel upgraded us to a deluxe ground floor room, we were in Lotus 610, 2 ground floor and 2 first floor apartments. These were garden view but we had a view of the sea as well as the pool from our balcony. The room was lovely, clean, spacious and had ample facilities including complimentary toiletries, a mini bar, tea/coffee making facilities, bath robes, mini safe. The grounds were kept beautifully and the grounds men & women were continually keeping them in order. The pool was big with plenty of sun beds and parasols available and was the same on the grass above beach and on the beach itself. We stayed on a bed & breakfast basis and the breakfast was a buffet and catered to all and was plentiful and of good variety. We only had a couple of snacks at the hotel and they were good. We used the free shuttle bus on numerous occasions to Hoi An Ancient Town and sometimes got one back of the time suited or used a cab/Grab (Asia’s version of Uber) we found getting around great and liked the location of this hotel. I used the hotel Spa for a full body massage which was superb. I chose the hotel for foreign currency exchange as they follow the bank’s rate. All the staff we came across were friendly, helpful, professional and lovely to deal with. We had a problem with our safe and within minutes we had somebody to our room and the problem was rectified very fast indeed. I would recommend this hotel to anybody as it was a real pleasure to stay at and I would definitely stay here again if/when am in Hoi An.

Beautiful, peaceful hotel

Selby, United Kingdom

My wife and I stayed here for two weeks in June 2019, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We picked this hotel because we are beach lovers and the Palm Garden has a prime location right on the white sands. The majority of other guests went out during our stay, so we always had a sunbed and more importantly, a parasol for shade from the boiling hot sun. The sea is calm, clear and warm with a gentle slope into the waters so it is safe for the elderly and children alike. We went to the pool a few times after we'd returned from trips and it was also nearly deserted. By mid-afternoon, the water is warm verging on hot, so it's not an ideal place for cooling off. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis, and the food was good but tends to cater more for the Oriental guests than Westerners. We dined on fresh fruit, yoghurts, toast and omelettes made in front of you and to your liking. We never ate any other meal at the hotel as we prefer to go out and about on a night and for lunch, we went to the bars across the road from the hotel. The Golden Lotus was our favourite with its new air-conditioned premises and friendly staff. We stayed in room 611, which was part of a block of four and up twelve steps with no lift. Our apartment was spacious and spotless with a powerful shower in an ornate tiled bath. There was free shampoo, shower gel, conditioner and body lotion. There was a kettle with tea and coffee making facilities, and we were given two bottles of water a day, which we stored in the fridge ready for use the next day. Our balcony had a partial sea view, mainly overlooking the beautifully-kept gardens and furnished with two rocking chairs, a table and a rack for drying clothes. Be warned: the balcony floor and chairs can get very hot! Our double bed was enormous, with four pillows, and the quiet air-conditioning allowed us to sleep peacefully. You will probably share your room with a lizard, but they are shy, harmless creatures and great for keeping the hotel insect free. Our check-in was quick and easy, and upon arrival, the staff greeted us with cold flannels and a drink. The reception team spoke excellent English and helped us out whenever we enquired. The rest of the hotel staff were also friendly and polite, waving to us every day, although you may encounter a language barrier. On one occasion, my wife asked a cleaner if we could have some more milk and the lady couldn't understand her, so my Mrs had to go to reception and ask for it. It may be worth mentioning that you cannot change money at the hotel on an evening, so do it during the daytime. The hotel provides four free shuttle buses a day into Hoi An town, which is about fifteen minutes away, but the last one back is at eight o'clock, so on an evening we took a taxi. The price varied from £3 to £4 even with the metered taxis which wait right outside the hotel. If you tell the driver roughly what time you'll be coming back, they'll be there waiting for you. Overall, the Palm Garden is an excellent hotel in a beautiful location within easy reach of Hoi An and other local points of interest. Come here for a peaceful getaway with scorching hot weather guaranteed and relax a while. You'll love it just like we did.
