Trip highlights

Upon arrival in Hanoi, you will be met and transferred to your hotel, and the rest of the afternoon is at leisure. This evening you will be collected from the hotel and taken for dinner at a local restaurant and a traditional water puppet performance.

Today you will be collected from your hotel for a full day tour of Hanoi. Visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and his former residence, followed by the One Pillar Pagoda and the Temple of Literature. After lunch at a local restaurant, enjoy a leisurely cyclo tour* through Hanoi, visiting the beautiful Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son Temple.

The remainder of the evening is at leisure, until 21:15 pm when you will be picked up from the hotel and transferred to Hanoi train station for the night train to Hue.

* A cyclo tour is a simple bicycle taxi pedalled by a driver who sits behind you. This is a great way to enjoy some sightseeing and get some great photos.

Today you will arrive into Hue train station around 10:35am and transfer to your hotel. After an early check-in and quick freshen up, you will depart on a tour to explore the Imperial City of Hue. Visit the Hue Citadel on the northern bank of the Perfume River, a royal complex that has been officially recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After lunch, continue with a visit to the emperor's tombs, Tu Duc and Khai Dinh Royal Tombs, before returning to your hotel.

This morning enjoy a cyclo ride through the narrow lanes of old Hue, passing homes, shops, hidden cafes and parks. Afterwards transfer to Hue railway station for a short but very scenic train journey to Danang via the Hai Van Pass (approx. 2.5 hours). Upon arrival in Danang you will be met and taken by road to Hoi An. One of the best ways to explore this charming UNESCO World Heritage Towns is on foot. During a leisurely walking tour you will discover the daily life of the local people, the temples and historic houses, with many great photo opportunities along the way.

This morning you will be picked up from your hotel and taken to My Son, an imperial city during the Cham Dynasty. This large complex of religious relics comprises more than 70 architectural works. On the way back stop for a short visit at the Sa Huynh Champa Museum in Tra Kieu. The rest of the day is at leisure for you to enjoy the beautiful town of Hoi An.

Today you will visit the marble-carving village at the foot of the marble mountains. Its beautiful temples and grottoes can be reached by climbing steep steps, so sturdy footwear is recommended. Afterwards, proceed to Danang railway station for the train to Nha Trang, arriving around 22:00 pm and then transfer to your hotel.

This morning you will be collected from your hotel for a trip to Mun Island, the only Marine Park in Vietnam. Drive to the harbour and enjoy a visit to the Tri Nguyen Aquarium, before cruising to Mun Island where you can snorkel (equipment included), ride on a local basket boat and enjoy a seafood lunch. Explore the life of fishermen at Meiu Fishing Village before returning to your Nha Trang hotel.

Today is at leisure for you to enjoy Nha Trang, or you may choose to take an optional countryside cycling excursion (payable locally).

The optional excursion will take you along scenic trails to small local villages, towns and farms and is one of the best ways to experience the true Vietnamese countryside and culture.

In the evening, transfer to Nha Trang railway station for the night train to Ho Chi Minh City.

Your train will arrive into Ho Chi Minh City around 5:30 am. You will be picked up from the station and transferred to your hotel, where you will have an early check-in and time to freshen up. Today you will visit Cu Chi Tunnels, an amazing network of underground tunnels used during the Vietnam War. Afterwards, return to the city centre for a half day tour including Chinatown, Ben Thanh Market, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Post Office, Presidential Palace and War Remnants Museum.

Today you will embark on a full day tour of the Mekong Delta. Your journey takes you to My Tho, the heart of the Mekong Delta, famous for its vast rice fields and beautiful landscapes. Upon arrival take a boat trip to a local workshop where handicrafts and sweets made from coconut are produced. Take a short ride on a horse carriage to one of the many orchards to taste homemade honey tea, fresh seasonal fruits and enjoy a traditional live music performance. Proceed by sampan boat through the small canals of the river, to observe daily life along the river banks before returning to My Tho pier. Visit Vinh Trang Pagoda and then drive back to Ho Chi Minh City.
